“Unusual SPA”
Review of Leixlip Spa

Leixlip Spa
Reviewed December 29, 2012

You don't expect Roman spa in Ireland, you don't expect aqueduct and don't expect warm springg but all of those you can find in Leixlip. Go further and discover Leixlip Waterfall. You will not regret.

Sadly neglected, but have a look at the amazing, but ultimately pointless Aquaduct nearby.

In the 18th when they build the viaduct of the Royal canel over the Rye river, they find a warm watersource. Later on in the 18th century and 19th century they had a Spa there with Roman bath, collector's house and waterfall. The Roman bath is later on restored. The waterfall is cause by the overflown of the royal canel. It is a beautifaul place with lot of history and nature, the history is told on boards. You have a nice view on the buildings of Intell. Unfortunely it is a litlle bit neglected, with graffiti on it and you find alot of garbage.
