“Beautiful modern house in a beautiful place”
Reviewed August 2, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Very well equipped house. Plenty of secure space. The location is scenic and quiet but with village and sea not too far away. The friendly landlord lives next door.

“Perfection”
Reviewed May 18, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The owners of this holiday home are the key to all that is perfect about your stay. We were lucky enough to find this house available for a last minute family break for 3 generations. I can honestly say that everyone had a wonderful time. The setting is so unique and peaceful with all the true sounds of nature. The house is absolutely beautiful and tastefully decorated but allows real comfort. Ciara, Naoise & John were so welcoming to us all and it was the thousand little things that made the holiday special. We were lucky with fabulous weather and it took every effort to leave the peaceful setting of the patio and comfort of the home. The coastal drive from Ballyvaughan to Fanor beach is stunning. The Rocks in the Burren seem to change colour with sun or clouds. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in rain & sunshine equally. The local market on a Saturday is a great source for local cheese, humus, breads, deserts and the supermarket has fresh and varied food options and when you arrive home its a cooks dream in Ciara's kitchen.
Holidays are so precious and if you find this holiday home available then look no further, it will be the start of some great memories in Co Clare.

“Tranquil, relaxing and perfect”

I highly recommend this property. Ciara is professional and friendly and everything was so easy. The house itself is fantastic - the kitchen has everything you could need, the sitting room is spacious and airy, the bedrooms are en suite and finished to very high standard and soooo comfortable. In short it is ideal. The views are lovely out to the burren and there is plenty to do. Ballyvaughan is short walk away (or 5 mins in a car) with shops, pubs and the pier. It is a lovely place. Ailwee caves and bird of prey sanctuary is definitely worth a visit, fascinating and the farm shop has plenty of lovely local produce. Beach walks and Burren walks are all on the doorstep. The sauna and hot tub, hidden away in the hazel woods are amazing - to unwind in a hot tub with nothing but bird song and surrounded by trees - such an experience! In short this is so so relaxing a place, really somewhere to get away from it all, Ciara is so friendly and easy to deal with, the whole experience has been wonderful. Look forward to next time!

I cannot recommend this property highly enough! As other reviewers have said it has everything you could wish for. The house is airy and very comfortable with beautiful views of the Burren and Ailwee mountain. It is secluded and yet in easy reach of eveything you could need. Ballyvaughan, with pubs, shops and the pier is a short walk or 5 minute drive and Ailwee caves and bird of prey centre is literally a 5 minute walk away, and there is easy access to beaches and Burren walks. Ciara could not have been more welcoming or professional and the property itself is so tranquil and relaxing. The self catering aspect is brilliant - everything you need is there. The bedrooms are comfortable, the sitting room and kitchen airy, the bathrooms (en suite) all finished to a high standard. The fact that there is a hot tub and sauna nestled away in the hazel woods is fabulous. To unwind in the sauna after a day of walking and then sit in the hot tub surrounded by trees is an experience not to be missed. There is plenty for children to see and do. I would definately recommend a visit to the caves and bird of prey sanctuary - fascinating. And also the farm shop which is there (try their cheeses!). In summary a beautiful, relaxing, friendly place; one that I definitely recommend for couples or families looking for a really relaxing and fun break.

“With Pets, With Family or Just Friends...Just Right!”
Reviewed February 15, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

A wonderful house in and ideal if you're looking for a spot to anchor yourself while e ploring the beautiful west of Ireland. This place offers the best of all worlds: you can bring your dog, little kids (they have high chairs) or older parents or folks requiring handicapped amenities. The house is new and serene- bedrooms are spaced out quite nicely so no one is on top of each other. Clean and modern but very bright and cozy...and interacting with Ciara is such a delight. The house is close to town and there's plenty of activities (Aliwee Caves are walkable, the ocean, the Burren, etc). If this place happens to have an available, do snap it up. You'll not regret it!

“What a Delight!!”
Reviewed November 9, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a magical experience during our 7-night stay at Ballycahill House!
On arrival we were greeted by one of the owners, Ciara, who was warm, friendly and could not do enough to assist in anyway.

This modern impressive house is beautiful inside and outside and has magnificent views of the Burren Mountains.
Sitting outside on the terrace for breakfast was just tranquil. The location is superb.
Peaceful and secluded, it was the perfect, relaxing holiday for our family of 4.
Highly recommended!

“Perfect hideaway for family and friends”
Reviewed October 26, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed with extended family, from an 80 year old to 2 weeks old. Kiera and her lovely daughter welcomed us with home baking, perfectly stocked fridge, clean towels & bed linen. Ground floor bedrooms ideal for young and old, v spacious, and nicely finished.
Ballyvaughan village was a 5 minute drive, or 30 minute country back lane walk, suitable for buggy and bikes. Plenty to do at the Aillwee Caves, within walking distance, with coffee shop and bird flying displays.
Park the car and walk. Making sure to try the Fear Gorta tea rooms near the pier, and O'Lochlainn's whiskey pub where Margaret will make you a hot whiskey with cloves and cinnamon, with a warm welcome in Ballyvaughan. Loved it all!
