“Charming pub in a gorgeous location!”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

I've been to this pub couple of times this Summer. It is a fantastic pub. Great charm and personality. It has the old authentic Irish bar feel to it, without indulging the "paddy-whackery" that some venues throw at tourists. The whisky menu is excellent, but so too are the other drinks. I drank red wine. There was a good selection of wines by the glass, poured from big bottles as opposed to serving those cheap, nasty snipes! I drank the MALBEC and it was really good. Others had Guinness and said it was very good also.
Service is excellent - mum and her 2 sons on the nights we were there.
The bar is beautifully maintained inside and out, and the toilets are immaculately clean.
The bar does not open until 8pm, and they do not serve food. This doesn't bother me!!...just a point of information!!

“A lovely traditional Irish pub”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

Having seen the wonderfully gentle film "The Irish Pub" some months back, we just had to visit O'Loclainn's during our recent stay in Ballyvaughan. In fact, we visited it every night!. A lovely, unspoilt, traditional pub (with a very, very fine selection of whiskies). No music and no television. Just conversation. Margaret, the lovely landlady, took time to talk to all the customers in turn. A perfect way to end to each day!

“Perfect Irish Whiskey Bar”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

We walked here after dinner so my husband could do a whiskey tasting. It's like stepping back in time- reminded me of going to the bar with my grandfather when I was younger. Our bar guide- Margaret I believe- was very knowledgable. It was a great mix of tourists and locals- had great pub conversation while we were there.

“Great 'character' pub !”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

A 'must' for any visitor to Ballyvaughan ! Whilst the Bar does not usually open until 8pm, it is worth the wait. Great ambience and great drinks, and friendly (family) staff. Will be back.............
