Driving from the Burren to the Cliffs of Moher we stumbled on this little gem while in the throes of some major stomach grumbling. From the roadside it was obvious these people knew their food so brakes were applied without consideration for the poor bumper-hugging Audi having long ago lost patience with our rubber-necking. We were not in any way disappointed other than by the self-imposed time allotted for our respite. Both the food and the service were the best we had encountered in a week-long stay in the West of Ireland. Definitely deserving of a "thumbs up"!

Would strongly recommend the local cheese board. In this case "Local" is defined as "right across the road".

Excellent food and drink with an amiable (and very helpful!) owner who pointed us in the direction of what would turn out to be some of my favorite spots during our visit to Ireland.

All in all, the perfect place to have stumbled upon after a long day of trekking through the rain. Just wonderful.

Amazing restaurant, also selling fine wine and art, full of character and charm, with lots of local information available.
We stopped for lunch and shared a platter of smoked salmon and mackerel which was out of this world...... The owner Cathleen is quite a character and quite a source of information on anything from The Burren to 1977 Vintage Port.

I love coming here. The converted coach-house is full of character and Kathleen is ever-attentive. Despite the vagaries of the Clare weather, we've been able to sit and enjoy our meal outside. Food is great and good value, and the desserts are to die for. Whether for a coffee and a nibble or a full meal, I would highly recommend BFW. My favourite is the pear and blue cheese salad...

Visited this restaurant recently. It is a real gem. Shared platters of smoked fish and and local cheeses with my wife. Delicious local food, presented beautifully. If you are looking for a real taste of Ireland, then look no further. This is a must visit restaurant.
