“Dog Friendly :)”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

I booked this accommodation because it was relatively near where my brother was staying with his family but also because they accepted dogs and I wanted to bring my two mutts with me from Dublin. The booking was simple! The price was VERY good as I had expected to be somewhat penalised for bringing the dogs but was delighted that the cost was €5 for one and only €7.50 to bring the two of them. I booked it quickly.

The place is really easy to find - bright yellow and gleaming in the sunshine! There were other dogs there on arrival and a number of people sitting out enjoying the last heat of the day (we arrived late at 10pm but had notified the hosts of this and they were most accommodating). I hopped out and was met by our hostess immediately - she gave us the key and brought us over to the little cottage just off the main house where we would be staying. The room was beautiful - far too beautiful for us dingy travellers and our hyper dogs! The bathroom was immaculate and the shower splendid. There were cushions galore and all the facilities you could ever want. It was a shame we were only staying one night!

Breakfast in the morning was quite the set up though I must admit the cooked breakfast was, perhaps, a little too 'posh' for my taste. I ordered the bacon and scrambled egg and it was a little work of art! (not a complaint at all - just an observation from someone who doesn't expect such finery I guess!).

Check out was a cinch :)

Lovely first nights sleep in Ireland! We landed in Shannon and made our way up to Drumcreehy House for the night and were greeted by warmth and friendliness.... just what we needed at the end of a tiring day. Bathroom was great, room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Rates were excellent. Gorgeous views of The Burren and Galway Bay. Several sitting rooms to enjoy and a lovely garden spot in which to write postcards. Breakfast was over the top and delicious! We would make an EFFORT to return to this B&B.

This lovely house on the south shore of Galway Bay is a perfect spot for the first day in Ireland when arriving from Shannon. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet and gracious (could use more reading light), lovely views of the bay or the Burren, the sitting room with honor bar is comfortable and well-stocked, the breakfast is spectacular! This was my second or third visit here and it only gets better! I will stay here on my next trip and the one after that!

Beautiful setting. Extensive breakfast options were a nice change; I can personally vouch for the fresh fruit, homemade muesli and mushroom omelette. Guests were taking pictures in the dining room. There is a bar in house for folks who want to settle in early or are tired of pubs. Very convenient for the extraordinary hawk walk at the Birds of Prey Center, the Burren and Tony Kirby's narrated hike--even the Cliffs aren't far. Spotless rooms, lovely gardens.

This is a lovely place with an amazing breakfast. The home is lovely and clean. Because there are a number of rooms, you could almost forget that you are in a B&B and think that you're in a small inn. Our room was not posh but homey and comfortable. After touring the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren, Drumcreehy House, with it's little garden, surrounding pastures and bay view was a visually lush change of scenery. We appreciated the Honesty Bar so that we could have a glass of wine and watch the sun set while looking at the bay. Do not skip breakfast!

Pros: Beautiful home, generous and comfortable common spaces for reading a book or relaxing. Breakfast incredible, amazing buffet as well as menu, all included at no additional fee.
Cons: Details missed....found a sock and used kleenex under a bed (not ours), two bath towels for three people. Also found the requirement to only have wine purchased onsite wine a bit unfriendly.

Drumcreehy Bed and Breakfast is such a lovely home. My husband and I stayed here at the end of our road trip along the west coast of Ireland. It was beyond relaxing, beautiful, and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, and the home is extremely nice. This B&B truly deserves the highest possible rating.
