stayed in ballyvaughan for a week in sept,we only stayed two nights in hylands, which were the last two days of our stay, i wished we stayed the week! the secret to this place is the staff, all absolutely superb, from carmel and jennifer who are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble to them if you need anything to patrick behind the bar who has always got time for a chat, to mick the chef who is a real character and a top of the range chef! i must add these staff work long hours, and it must be tiring for them but it never shows! excellent hotel, very comfortable a really enjoyable stay.

We were there with our two children who loved the family room.
There is a lovely relaxed chilled out vibe to this place. We had dinner, great value, and a lovely breakfast there.
They serve a brilliant pint of Guinness in the bar and make sure you try the seafood chowder.

Enjoyed our short stay in Ballyvaughan. We were here for a wedding and chose this hotel because of its central location. It is right in the village and walking distance from everywhere as it can be tough getting a taxi late at night and we didnt want to find ourselves walking on dark roads. Our room was to the front of the hotel almost over the front entrance which was a little noisy when guests were returning late at night. We ate lunch in the bar on arrival which was very filling and then enjoyed a good breakfast the next morning. The rooms were fine, clean but a little basic and the bathroom a little small. Did enjoy the wonderful smell of a real fire in the lobby - very welcoming.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the rear of the hotel. Those on the front are a little noisy.

Spent two nights in comfort. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious, the lounges were lovely, and the breakfast was good. Service was friendly. We had dinner one night in the attached pub, and the food was very good. Other than our legs getting tired walking up and down the stairs (no elevator), we have no complaints!

We enjoyed our stay here and the fireplace in the lobby makes for an easy place to relax. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinner were very good. The rooms were clean and roomy compared to most places.
Everything is walking distance from the hotel and there is a small grocery store only a block away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Hylands Burren Hotel. It was warm and cozy with
the truf fire going all the time, so nice to come in and have that lovely fire. Room was fine, breakfast was great. Had their good bar meals (fish n'chips) while watching Euro 12 Soccer with some fun locals. Everyone that worked there had the genuine Irish hospitality.
The hotel was also near the Ballyvaughan Church where we met up with Shane Connolly for our Burren Walk. This was a great, truly informative 4 hour tour of the Burren. You'll finish this hike with good understanding of the area called The Burren. Shane makes it all a good time. His tour is excellent.
