What a surprise this show turned out to be,my daughter taught it was great as she learned so much here about owels hawks and vultures, and other endangered species. The show itself was great to watch and the man was great with the birds ,Hopefully this will give children the power to help these birds survive ,

“Great family and nature attraction”

The Burren birds of prey is an excellent attraction and visitor show. There is a great variety of different species at the centre and in the show. Plenty of audience participation adds to the event.

“incredible hawk walk, good raptor show, even a cheese shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

Very positive experience: We arrived a bit early at the Burren Birds of Prey Center and were shown around by one of their staff members who also does native American craft demonstrations. Jamie was our hawk walk trainer and also did much of the informative show later on. We LOVED the hawk walk with the Harris Hawks, born in captivity, not wild captured. It was one of our best experiences in Ireland.

The birds seem to be very well cared for and the education focus of the center was important to us.
There was even a cheese shop with samples of delicious local cheeses.

“Excellent show and bird display”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

Attended an afternoon show where trainers were excellent at explaining the features of each bird and displayed them by walking them through the crowds of visitors. Trainers were sensitive to the hot day and didn't let the birds become too tired or played out before they let them return to their sactuary. Watching some of the birds fly and return - eager to answer questions.

“Highlight of our holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

We were staying in Co Clare last week and bought the join family ticket on line for the Aliwee Cave and the Bird of Prey centre. i think it was €35 for both for family of 5, great value.
We ended up going to the 2 o'clock show...going to the cave in the middle and going back in for the 4 o clock show again!!! There was no problem doing this btw :-)
The shows are fantastic really well done and also very educational. The three kids 8, 13 and 16 loved it! at the end 2 hawks were brought out and kids and adults were invited up to put on the leather glove and have a hawk fly to them. My 8 year old gave it a go and LOVED it! Her birthday was the following week so we decided to book a Hawk Walk for her. It cost €70 for a 45 min private walk with a hawk and handler ....we were all allowed to go with her to observe so well worth the cost. This was definitely the highlight of our holiday.
Our guide was NIAMH and I have to say she was absolutely excellent. She explained everything to my little girl and put her totally at ease with her hawk "Calvin" . We took a 45 min walk through the forest trail and Niamh got Calvin to fly to and from Maeve s arm. She Talked to us about the hawks at the centre and answered any questions we had as we went. It is so clear that Niamh loves working with the birds at the centre, the way she interacts with them is so lovely, her enthusiasm is fantastic.
The Hawk walk was an experience my little girl will never forget and she hasn't stopped talking about it since we got home. Big thank you to Niamh and all the staff at the Birds of prey centre!!
