Myself and my boyfriend ended up here by chance. We were set to see Aillwee Caves, however we stopped off to buy the tickets at the Burren Birds of Prey Centre which is on the same grounds. This is a hidden gem! The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, and illustrated a sincere passion for these birds. As we were the only two people there on the day (it was mid-week, early afternoon) we were able to handle the birds. The experience was unexpected and magical. Would highly recommend. Kids would love it!

It is soo amazing to see all the birds so close, the flying show is amazing as the birds or owls just fly over your heads to get their "treat". The audience is welcome to ask questions and hold the birds themselves..... just a great experience and hard to describe.

(We bought the joint tickets for 17€ (admission for the birds of prey and the cave) but I did not think the caves were worth the money.)

I was here in June and really enjoyed it. However, missed the feeding time. Returned recently, February. This time was able to catch the 3pm display. Really enjoyable. The instructors are great. Highly informed and approachable. You get so close to the birds. We had vultures walking around the stand!

I think they change the birds for different displays. We had hawks, eagles and vultures.

You MUST go visit. Fun, interesting and educational. What more does one want??

We happened upon the centre on our way to visit the Aillwee cave. If you are planning a visit, make sure you find out when the flight shows are on as just viewing the birds wouldn't be worth it. As we were there off season, there were only 7 of us at the show and we were each offered a chance to participate. Having a huge bird of prey fly in land on your arm is something else! The presentation was very interesting and even our 14 year old son still talks about the visit. Great to incorporate with a visit to the Aillwee cave as it is a small centre and your visit won't take long. The cheese cottage on the same site is also worth a visit to pick up some picnic supplies!
