Cote's Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 3 Grand Falls B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We left Ottawa uncertain where we would get to on our way to PEI. A friend texted us and gave us the number for Cote's B & B. We called Norma half an hour before Grand Falls and she assured us she had a room. She even advised us to stop and have some dinner first as the restaurants close early. Her welcome was warm, the room was beautiful, the bed comfy and the breakfast delicious. There are well behaved and friendly dogs and cats to greet you too but after the greeting they retire to Norma's private part of her home. The house is perfect for a B & B and is tastefully decorated. We had a restful night and hearty breakfast to send us on our way.

We were recommended this place by the proprietor of another New Brunswick B&B we enjoyed many miles away. I have to say that we weren't disappointed. However, you have to be prepared to share the house with three boisterous dogs (that said, Norma does control them properly) and a number of cats. We had no problems with that. As others have said, the decor here is in first class condition, the place absolutely spotless, the bathroom including a whirlpool bath, of the highest standard. breakfast was excellent too and the hostess, Norma, very friendly.
The location is spot on as you are within walking distance of the best places to eat in the town (there aren't many!) and most of the shops. if it's not tooo hot you can even walk down to the Falls - it's that close.
I thoroughly recommend this place.

I think I'll run out of superlatives with this property. Unique. Spotless, 60 years old and looks brand new. The owner, Norma Cote, is a delight; welcoming us truly into her home. She's attentive, considerate and has a great sense of humour. The rooms were immaculate and provided amenities above and beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. We will return to Canada next year from Australia and will go out of our way to stay here again. Thus si the model we will use when we set up our B & B in a few years' time.

Room Tip: They're all amazing!

My husband and I traveled from PA by motorcycle and headed thru NH & ME and our 1st trip over the border was in New Brunswick. We love to stay at B & B'sand this was a wonderful place to start in the area of canada we were heading!! New Brunswick is not only beautiful but Grand falls is a great town with a magnificent picturesque waterfall within walking distance from this B & B. Norma was very accomodating not only with the language but with info and even let us park the motorcycle in her garage out of the rain. Her place was lovely and extremely clean!! So for those that gave it a bad review or comented on the dogs ...Shame on YOU!! I've stayed at many B & B's and the dogs were well behaved, they just liked aliitle attention. Those are the people who should stay at a sterile hotel with four walls!! Anyways the place was great, Norma was great , the breakfast was great and Grand Falls Was great!!! There was a nice Italian Restuarant within walking distance also and make sure to stop at The Laid Back Inn Bar for a cold one ...great people!! It made our first trip into Canada a really good experience! Thank you!!

This was my first stay at a B & B and I was a little nervous about what to expect (privacy, security, interacting with host/hostess), but I wound up loving the place! There were 2 locks & a chain lock on the inside of each room, along with a key to lock up your room when you go out, so no worries about security. The hostess Norma is a fabulous character. She is down to earth and will keep to herself if you are quiet, but if you want to chat (often during their great breakfasts) she is a very open and funny lady. The room (I stayed in the"Plum Room") was very clean and beautifully decorated. I loved the little touches like the fuzzy robes, Hershey Kisses, quality hand soap and CD player with audio CD's. I am an animal lover, so I was happy to give the occasional pat down to their very friendly cat and dogs (who did not come anywhere near our room). The location is amazing, it's only 2 minutes from the Falls, but still in a peaceful low traffic area that is very easy to locate. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and I cannot wait to go back.

Room Tip: The "Plum Room" is a great size for a couple, or a couple with a young child and has plent...

The rooms are comfortable, the price is reasonable, and the breakfast is pretty decent. That being said, we were a bit put off by the hostess, who didn't treat either of us in a particularly friendly way even when we called to inform her that we were running late. She spent most of her time talking on the phone or to other people and did not make much of an effort to talk to us or assure we were welcome. When we came down for breakfast, we were told to go back upstairs because the others weren't done yet.

Allergy sufferers beware- the dogs and cats are cute but they'll probably give you some trouble. The pets get treated better than the guests, unfortunately, and us being a young couple made us feel a bit like we were being treated like children.

Very nice room in this convenient B&B located close to nearby restaurants in Grand falls...and there not many real restaurants other than fast foods! Breakfast is nice, host not much talkative though for a B&B. Two big dogs in the place, sometimes too loud especially at bedtime, maybe the only negative side of this place...
