“Gorge”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

The gorge and falls were lovely but the museum and information centre are closed for repairs - a disappointment.

“Still impressive”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Even though there were only a couple gates open at the dam, there was still an impressive flow of water in the canyon. The gorge is quite impressive and threw my depth perception right off. My brain had trouble trying to figure out how big the gorge just was!

Quite impressive, worth the stop.

“Come When the River is High”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

This isn't exactly near anything else, but if you're sailing up the TransCanada 2 Highway, get off and visit the gorge. About an hour or so is about right. In the spring, the water flow is impressive; less so in the later summer and fall. Once off of the highway, the signage is poor; turn down the main street in the town and follow it to the gorge; not a lot of parking available. Maps are available and there are a couple of walkways that provide good views.

“Timing is Everything”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

To see the falls in their true glory you need to be there in the spring during the spring melt. The river is dammed for Hydro Electric generation, During the summer months there is just a small amount of water going thru the gorge. During the spring melt some of the gates are opened and the water gushes through. Great sight!

When I was there, three of the nine gates were opened. A friend of mine has seen the falls when all nine gates were open. That must have been spectacular.

“Impressive Gorge also offers Adventure”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

There is a zip-line system over the gorge for daring visitors. Although I have been only an observer, I did notice excellent preparation and safety measures in place for the zip-line.
