Stayed in the hotel last weekend. Lovely friendly staff at reception, very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Had a meal on Saturday night, it was lovely and the service was very good. Would definitely return.

Enjoyed only a one night's stay in the hotel but it was enough to make a really good impression on me. The staff were extremely welcoming and gave me all the information I needed, including information on local walks and a map. Our room was very comfortable and included lots of books to read about places to eat both locally and in Dublin. They also have a recycling policy which asks residents to use separate bins for rubbish and recyclables. Other hotels please take note. The restaurant staff were attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was very busy on that evening and service was a little on the slow side but we were informed of this by a member of staff. Breakfast was a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent and the choices wide. The staff were very efficient on hand at al times. We didn't take time to enjoy the leisure facilities but will do next time. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Our room 411 overlooked the car park. It had a terrace that on a nice Summer's evening would I i...

Always loved this hotel for afternoon tea, but this time on a Saturday lunch time, waited one hour for lunch with my friend. Got the tea and by the time the waitress remembered us it was cold. I know it was a busy time but that is no excuse another couple walked out. I do admitted when we did get our food it was good quality expect for the scone which I think was heated and re heated.
This is a lovely hotel (castle) and I know from friends the rooms are quality maybe this was a off day or short staffed. I will give it another trip.

Stayed there last night. Everything was perfect with the exemption of the bar staff in the dungeon. On one occasion I had to wait 10minutes to be served as no bar was to be found. The night manager ended up serving me, also ordered an iron for the room which took 20minutes, besides that the service was excellent.
We particularly liked the restaurant staff and service they provided, food was wonderful.

this was a two night break with dinner, the hotel is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was first class, with lovely fresh produce. Our room was very warm as indeed was the lounge, and the seats were very well placed that people had maximum privacy.
The pool area was great and well kept.
The staff were on hand at all times without being in your face.

From the welcoming arrival at reception we sensed that we had chosen well for a short break. Lovely decor, friendly staff, good service all round. Enjoyed a great meal in the hotel bistro on one evening. Breakfast is buffet style and very good quality. We had a very large bedroom with two double beds, couch, chair, table and TV. Nearby Dalkey, about 15 minutes walk, is really pretty. Small independent shops give it a homely village feel and there are several wonderful pubs. A good walk to Dun Laoghaire, about 45 minutes away and back by DART train.
