What a great trek!
I arrived at the stables and was met by friendly, relaxed staff (and a waggy tailed stray dog one of the staff had taken under her wing). As you walk in you can see immediately how well looked after the stables and the horses are.
We all mounted at the school and did a little bit of walking and trotting so the staff could make sure we were all ok and then set off on the trek. It's the best trek I've been on so far and we spent 2 hours walking and trotting through the woodland, along the sides of open fields, up and down stony pathways on the mountains and along a dirt track road. The horses were even brave enough to go through quite big puddles, which was also fun for a beginner like I was at the time (June 2012). At one point I looked around and saw craggy, mountainous scenery on one side and a long beach and the sea on the other side. It was just wonderful to ride through all that.
The horses were all very well behaved and clearly used to taking beginners out - in fact, they were gorgeous :)
You can't go wrong here if you're looking for a fun ride out - even if you're a beginner.
