We had a two night stay booked here and had a wonderful trip. We explored the countryside and the woodland walk to the back of the hotel and visited the cattle as well as enjoying the food in the hotel.
The management were so helpful and were always available. We enjoyed a meal in he hotel nod breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: Stay at the back of the hotel, there's less traffic and noise.

An enjoyable few days spent in a friendly hotel. Particular thanks goes to the helpful woman who cleaned our room. A good value hotel and a great breakfast. If you are looking for faults then no doubt you will find them-the bathroom was a little tired in places but we did not have any issues. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked surprisingly well. Just a helpful hint, take your own toiletries, as there are only soap dispensers in the bathroom. Our double room was quite large, with a comfortable double and a single bed. The rooms are not very well soundproofed and you may well hear your neighbours television. There was music in the bar but we could not hear it from our room.

I attended a cookery demonstration in this hotel on 22nd March 2013. In excess of 150 people arrived for the demo at 7.30 pm. The demo was excellent and informative. At around 8.45 we all took a 15 minute break for refreshments. As we all descended on the bar, the bar staff dropped from 3 staff then to two and then to one staff member left to serve the regulars and the influx of cooking enthusiasts. A female manager appeared to help at the bar but was less than helpful when we pointed out that we had to return to the demo in the next few minutes. I was lucky to get a glass of red wine and a bottle of still water. Many more did not get served at all.
We returned to the excellent demo that ended after 11.15 pm. Again the same situation at the crowded bar, with no apology or explanation for the poor service. I traveled some distance for the demo and would have liked a quick drink before departure but in the end I reckon i was home by the fire before I would have been served.
In all we spent the best part of 4 and half hours in this hotel and between the three of us could have parted with at least €40 in refreshments, but alas the hotel did not seem to want our custom. We went for the cookery demo and we were not disappointed but only for the tea and coffee provided we would have left thirsty. Overall we left disappointed by the poor (or lack of) bar service.

We Spent last night in the Cahir House Hotel on a living social deal that cost €30pp for B&B, an evening meal and a glass of wine. I didn't expect much for such a bargain price but turned out to be a lovely evening. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, plenty of food, good temperature and tasty. Service was good, effective and non instrusive. Hotel was very clean and warm and staff were helpful. A really nice stay.

My husband an I stayed on Feb 22nd for one night b&b +evening meal. Room was good and spacious and clean ,teacups supplied in bedroom were all chipped on rim probably by dishwasher but you just could not use them. Had dinner booked for 6.30 went for shower at 5 30 and no hot water, just warm enough to wash your hands, abandoned shower until the morning what a shock that was when it was stone cold water than ran on all hot taps, which is totally unacceptable anywhere not to mind a hotel. Went for breakfast food cooked to order supposedly as this also came cold and had been sitting around for a while. Decided to get out of here fast, checked out at 10 40 unwashed and hungry, made my complaint about cold water, got a dismissive reply if I hadnt complained how could they fix it, which I replied, I am not the complaining type, and had expected to have hot water at 8 30am. Biggest dissapointment was there was no mention of an apology whatsoever. Must say our evening meal was very good, and the entertainment in the bar on Sat. night was very enjoyable. Would not revisit this hotel.

My husband and I had a lovely overnight stay here on 16th Feb. The Room was adequate, small, floorboards creaky, but fine. We had dinner in the Hotel bistro - it was excellent. The staff were very courteous and professional.
There were 2 young people playing easy listening music in the bar on Sat night, which gave a nice atmosphere.
Cahir was surprisingly nice, There are lots of sights - Swiss Cottage, Cahir Castle - two of the places to explore. Galtymore mountain is only 8 miles away and worth a hike.
It was excellent value as we had a Living & Social Deal.

Room Tip: It might be better to ask for a room in the new part of teh Hotel

Hotel very centrally located, food was good value and very tasty. Rooms were outdated but very clean it was very noisy at night the walls were very thin and hard not to hear people in the next room or outside the door. Staff were very nice one Barman in particularly was not so friendly but maybe he just had a bad night. Everyone else was lovely.
