“Have stayed in poorer higher classed establishments”

I was a guest at my cousins wedding and the level of service received from the offset was top class. The manager bent over backwards to ensure we had a welcoming stay. (He knew the names of the bride and groom from the day they booked, which gave things a personal touch).

I have stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels both in Ireland and around the world, and many would not come close to the standard of service I experienced.
The single room was clean, the bed was so comfy, not to mention a double!! Bathroom was big and contained a bath with plenty of hot water.
This is a country style hotel with no pretentious ideas about itself. I feel many places these days do not give good service because they strive to be places they're not. Great character in a beautiful location.
Will recommend to anyone!!

Myself and My partner have just returned from a week at the lodges in Kilcoran. We decided to book this as a last minute break that was Pet friendly so we could bring the hound and we were delighted we did what a relaxing week we had! The lodges are located off the main Hotel. We stayed in Lodge 5 a detached lodge at the rear of the hotel , It was beautiful, spacious and spotless clean with 3 bedrooms all en suite a huge kitchen & living area in the beautiful surroundings of Cahir, even the view from our lodge was amazing. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need and we cooked & ate in a couple of nights, the nights we didn’t cook we ate dinner in the Hotel. The food & service was amazing and really good value. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. There's lots to do in the area the stunning Glengarra woods are located just up the road great for dog walks and it’s a quick drive to Cahir Town, the Swiss Cottage & Cahir Castle. It’s also close to the Mitchelstown Caves which is well worth a visit a charming Irish set up not commercialized at all and the caves are spectacular! Can’t wait to come back to Kilcoran lodge it was a little haven in South Tipperary.

Had a great 2 night stay at the mews (2 bed house) on this property.Very large living/kitchen area, 2 double bedrooms both en suite also a separate toilet down stairs. A fully equipped kitchen, large 6 seater dining table, 2 seater couch 1 armchair and 4 channel tv. There was 5 of us staying and even though the hotel thought that there was only 4 of us they had no problem giving us a camp bed. The food in the hotel was excellent, 4 course meal for 5 people plus a 5 beers 150 euos great value and the service was excellent and speedy. We did not have breakfast but i;m sure it was of a high standard, if the evening meal was anything to go by. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel and its mew's and lodges and i will most certainly return. Enjoy as i did.

Having bought a deal voucher for a 2 night stay for 5 people +Bottle of Wine. We booked the Mews Apartment for our family of five to arrive 10th August for two nights. The week before we received a call to say that our 'provisional booking' could not be accommodated. I explained this had not been a provisional booking and advised that we had organised time off work. Reception told me they would check it out and ring back in an hour - NO phone call! I rang back after two hours to be told 'really sorry for the stress - we look forward to seeing you on the 10th'. Arrived on the 10th. Waited 15 minutes at an unattended Reception to be told 'Sorry no Mews Apartment booked for you', Instead two rooms in the hotel itself. No good considering we had all our food etc for the weekend in the car. No management around to help and the poor Bar Man kindly went off and arranged the apartment for us. Relieved we went to our house hoping to relax. No such luck! The apartments are really well appointed and would be lovely if they were cleaned - Cobwebs everywhere, Carpets Badly Stained as were the blankets on the beds and in the hotpress. Tap in one of the bathrooms didn't work. Not enough towels for the five of us. NO CAMPBED there so we made up a fifth bed on the floor with some camping rugs we had in the car. The oven was so Greasy we had to wrap everything in silver foil before cooking. The following morning the friendly cleaning ladies offered us a campbed but at this stage we had made our own arrangements. To be honest we use the deal vouchers all the time and never have we experienced such a disastrous setup. We really expected Manuel to arrive on the scene. To cap it off we never received our free bottle of wine - maybe just as well considering the state of the accommodation. When we checked out we received another apology and assurance that the manager would be in touch with us during the week. We sent an email to the Manager which so far has been ignored- says it all really. Shame as we love this area and regularly visit. Lots of other lovely places to stay in the area though.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room always ask for one away from the entertainment area or bar ie not above.
