O'Briens Cashel Lodge
Certificate of Excellence

I stayed at the Lodge on the way from Dublin to Dingle. Perfect stop. Room was spacious and quiet. Tom was very accommodating. Location is a short walk to the pubs and restaurants in Cashel, as well as touring the Rock of Cashel, plus it is a brilliant photo of the Abbey ruins right across the street.

We camped here at the end of July and could not believe what a fantastic little campsite it was and the location and views were incredible.Tom and Brid were so friendly and helpful and their "things to do" were great.Cafe Hans,Feehans pub and the brilliant Bru Boru centre. We did not have to use the car as you could walk into town with plenty of shops in 10mins.The site itself is very clean and there is a campers kitchen with kettle, toaster, fridge, electricity points and picnic bench. The view at night when The Rock is lit up and in the morning as the sun rises from behind it is incredible.Such a lovely relaxed site.We will be back.Thanks.

At the foot of the Rock of Cashel and across the street from Hore Abbey you couldn't have a more beautiful setting. It was quite handy to walk to town for dinner. And within driving distance of many places on our to-see list. Although a self-catering lodge, they offered to provide a breakfast, for an additional charge. Tom apologized that it would not be a hot breakfast, but the cereals, cheeses, fruit, and meats they provided were amazing and certainly worth every euro. It is so centrally located that I wish we had planned to stay longer.

Location impossible to beat - between the Rock of Cashel and Hoare's Abbey, walking distance to explore but photo opportunities from the rooms! Tom and Brid have done a great job renovating the old stone barn into the most comfortable, large bedroom and ensuites. Kitchen is downstairs - with real milk not UHT and they are keen to offer help, have a chat or leave you be. Highly recommend

Room Tip: Any room would be fabulous

A very nice bed and breakfast - see below - across the road from Hoar Abbey (a ruined abbey with cattle grazing in its field) and from the side of the Rock of Cashel. The room was small as judged by hotel standards, but well appointed and very clean. Plumbing was modern and functional.

Breakfast, unlike most places in Ireland, was not included, but was reasonably priced (10 Euro for continental breakfast for two) and delicious. Cereals, including good muesli, yogurt, fruit juices, tea, coffee, a superb fresh fruit plate, breads, AND Tom O'Brien made porridge for us.

Owners Brid and Tom O'Brien were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

A little bit out of town itself, about a 10-15 minute walk, and on the side of the Rock, so we found it better to drive to the Rock rather than walk up the rather steep hill. Communal (separate) kitchen for lodgers to make tea, etc.

We headed to the Rock of Cashel without making any reservations. Driving around Cashel we stumbled upon O'Briens at the very base of the Rock. We couldn't believe our luck that there were rooms in the guesthouse available. The room we had was small but neat as a pin and spotless. There is a wonderful shared kitchen that has wi-fi where you can go make tea or coffee anytime and where Tom & Brid fed all of us a delicious breakfast the next morning. We had stopped at a grocery store in town and bought cheeses, crackers, meats and wine and had a picnic in the back gazing up at the Rock of Cashel and enjoying the couple of sheep that they have on the property. Later we walked across and wandered around in the Hore Abbey which is beautiful. This was a great place and we felt very lucky to have stumbled upon it.
