I had a quick meal here last night 5 March and was very pleasantly surprised. I thought I would not be able to find anywhere serving food on the Dublin-Cork road but was glad I made the detour - this plave serves great food. The soup and bread were divine - one of the nicest carrot soups I have ever tasted - and a lovely salad with tons of fresh greens, followed by very good strong coffee. The atmosphere is very cosy and warm, just what is needed on a long journey in the dark. Service was good and unobstrusive. I would definitely stop here again. There is such an appalling choice of places to stop on this particular journey - this one might actually make the journey pleasant.
