Great place with lots to see. It small but so much to see. You can ask the owner anything and he will be able to tell you a number of stories on the item. Such a nice guy.

Located in the center of Cashel and within a short walking distance of the Rock of Cashel, this is a quick look into Ireland's History. There are three separate museums including the "Famine Museum," "The War of Independence Museum" and the "Proclamation of Independence Signatories 1916. There is also the "Garden of Remembrance 1916," The Penal Chapel, The Brougham Carriage, a tinker's caravan, a forge and a statue of Sean Russell. Small admission fee.

This small museum is a short walk from the Rock of Cashel or the town centre. It was only 8 euros for two adults (kids went free) and it is a little gem of Irish history. The owner took our money and then gave us a tour of the premises explaining all the exhibits! We then had plenty of time to wander ourselves. It cannot compete with the National Libraries but If you are interested in Irish history in a quick tour (allow about 1 hour), this is the place to visit.

This must be the best-value tourist attraction on the planet! So much has been packed in to quite a small area, but done very well. If you're interested in the history of Cashel and surrounding area, it's a must. Unlike many 'museum' type places, I wanted to read every single exhibit caption as though they were quite lengthy, they were so well written and really worth reading. Well worth the few euros it costs to go in.
