“Decent B&B, would have loved to be closer to town”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2012

Gort na Cloc was an excellent B&B - teriffic owner, Mary, great food, comfortable rooms and beds. Altogether a great B&B, but we would have hoped for something closer to a town. We wanted food, drink and Irish music the night we were in the area, and she recommended a few places to try (Holy Cross, Tipperary, Thurles). Please be careful if you venture out into the night to find entertainment and a meal! We got lost on the way back, it was dark, and roads are not ideally marked if you're not used to Irish transportation. The B&B is literally in the country, and it's a drive anywhere if you want to enjoy Irish music and pubs. Prepare for that if you are planning to stay at Gort na Cloc and looking for Irish festivities in the evening.

Charming house a few miles from Cashel over one of the more gorgously picturesque bridges you'd ever wish to see.. Comfortable rooms and beds, hot showers that stayed hot.
Great advice on the local attractions, very useful for golfers. And one of the best breakfasts anywhere . The Irish must have the best bacon in the world, but the sausages, black pudding white pudding(you need to ask for it but it's a taste I acquired) all the usual suspects and lashings of tea and soda bread; in short it's a wonder we got outside at all.
Mary was just lovely and we shall make a point of returning. next time we go to Ireland.
The only thing is you need to able to climb stairs as it is too small for an elevator.
