Owner description: St Patrick's Well is located near Clonmel a short distance south of the main Clonmel, Cahir road. It is an old religious site situated in a sheltered glen where a large volume of spring water continuously wells up from underground. The church was built in the seventeenth century, but there are traces of an even older building. Inside the walls is the tomb of Nicholas White of Clonmel who died in 1622. At the centre of the small lake is a weathered Celtic Cross which dates from early Christian times in Ireland.

“Peaceful stroll”

A fabulous place for a nice relaxing stroll, or a time to meditate or relieve stress. A well kept part of nature, with beautiful trees and clear spring water.

“Nice location”

One of the most unusual holy wells you'll ever visit. Peaceful, with a ruined church, and a well that's more like a large pond. If you're not into prayer it's still worth going there to read a book, enjoy nature and soak in peaceful quietness.

“Beautiful place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

The first time I went to Saint Patrick's Well in Clonmel, Co Tipperary was when I was a child in the late 70's and early 80's. Now that I spend a lot of time in Clonmel as an adult, this is a place I love to go for a little quiet time. I went there today, 27th February 2013, and was delighted to see people doing maintenance there. A great place to go for a romantic stroll or picnic, to bring the kids to get them out and about, or for some "me" time. Well worth a visit.
