If you are ever in Dundalk ,Co. Louth, Ireland, and want really good food at very reasonable prices, then head for the Jockeys Bar. This lovely little pub consistently serves great food and does so with great personal attention and care. Everything is freshly cooked and portions are generous. The deserts are sinful as deserts should be. Try the homemade apple or rhubarb crumbles, or if you really want to "transcend", try the cheesecake.
Take it from a man who likes his grub that this is a good recommendation. Over the last 14 months, I must have visited the Jockeys over 50 times. Why go anywhere else?

It suprised me as the bar wasn't much to look at but the restaurant and food was very good.

Called in for lunch and the place was busy but Sean (the boss) found us a table very quickly. There was a good selection on homemade dishes on offer and the service was fantastic. The craic was great, as was the food and drink. So if you're passing through, it's worth a visit and you'll get a warm welcome.
