Checked in at nearly midnight, checked out at 7.30am - short and sweet! But the room was really nice, modern, nicely decorated in contemporary style. Bathroom was very nice, and plenty of towels & toiletries. All beautifully clean.

Not sure about breakfast, as we were too early for a cooked one.

Only grumble, the room was too hot for me even with the window open, and the bedclothes were in one big layer, no way to peel off a bit so I had to sleep with no covers at all which is not so nice.

.Spent 5 nights here. Very comfortable deluxe room plenty of space. Toiletries could have been more plentiful we had to ask for more.
Very quiet brooms at night. Breakfast v good and served until 11am.

Ate in the restaurant one night very good food. The bar was fun with the banter with the locals. Close to the forest and hills for great walks. We would definitely return for a break.

Room Tip: Deluxe room is stood size back the hotel quiet during the night . Early morning has some delivery no...

Overall I was disappointed with this hotel considering the great reviews it gets here. We were given a room in the old part of the hotel, the room itself was small and the bathroom tiny but the bed was comfortable. The main problem was there is no wifi in the old part of the hotel which is not mentioned on the website. I reviewed the park bistro seperately but it was not a good experience either. I must mention that the reception staff were very pleasant, pity about that one restaurant staff member.

We had the best bed on our trip here and the room was large with a flat screen TV. We were going to eat at the Park Bistro following the number 1 rating on Trip advisor..see my review on that. Our experience there really ruined our stay here so unfortunately I cannot give the hotel the rating it my otherwise have received.

Breakfast was OK... Service is NOT a strong point here. The location is however great.

Room Tip: there are lots of steps between different parts of the building on the same floor, so if you have re...

We were lost and had a late start so we didn't arrive at the hotel until 11pm. Almost everything in town was closed and the staff stayed on just waiting for us! They were extremely helpful and considerate. When one of our party mentioned, in conversation, he was hungry the women at the desk were ready to snap into action and make him something to eat. The rooms were very nice and clean and the breakfast buffet was plentiful.
This was one of my favorite stops on the trip. I only wish I had more time to spend in the town.
Also, the ride to and from was extremely , exceptionally beautiful

stayed 2 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, bistro and bar. Had a lovely meal on one night. The hotel has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is so handy for visiting Garinish Island - ferry literally across the road. Also for touring the wonderful beara peninsula and the drive round to nearby kenmare. Dont miss a chance to spend 1-2 hours in the quirky ewe garden about 2 miles out of Glengarriff on the road to Kenmare.

Stayed with family of two boys. Rooms were great and the location is fabulous, especially for hiking. However that's all the good to be said for it.

Rooms were generally clean, but surfaces were still sticky from whatever wasn't wiped down before. Bizarrely, for what has been a rotten summer, it's been too warm at night with 25 degrees in the room and no way of cooling it down.

All of this would be alright, but the breakfast was the worst I have seen in a long time. At two mornings we waited for ages to have our order taken and even longer for food. Buffet is absolutely minimal with very poor choice. Orders were taken from guests arriving later and when food did finally arrive, it was cold, overlooked and the pudding was fried with the wrappers still on it. Service was extremely slow, but most likely due to either poor morale or lack of staff.

Not sure where they claim to have 4 stars from either. No facilities other than the room and bar mean 3 stars to me.
