Lugdine Lodge is a lovely & welcoming home surrounded by a lovely forest. It was great to come in from a day out exploring West Cork and relax with a glass of wine in front of the fire. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Would love to go back.
If you want to be quiet and secluded in the countryside/ very near the sea and have all the comfort of town living then you will not be disapointed with Lugdine lodge.
Shopping basics can be found in nearby Glengariff a few KMS away.
If your prepared to drive then you can cover most sights in the three peninsulas in a week, but then you need more time to rteally visit.
You will be welcomed and helped to prepare all for an easy rental with Sean the house owner, we are certain.
Bed linen included in the rental price as standard would have simplified things for us, rather than them being offered as an added extra. We know this keeps the advertised prices looking keen amongst the competition!

We had an absolutely incredible time. Lugdine Lodge and its garden was beautiful. From the moment you enter through the private driveway you know it is going to be peaceful and a little bit special, and it was!! Home from home, very clean and tidy, very spacious, got a wonderful night's sleep. Couldn't have been happier with the cottage, would seriously recommend it to anyone. Couldn't fault it. Sean and his wife Anne are such a lovely couple and extremely friendly and helfpul. Glengariff itself was beautiful and picturesque, it is like stepping into another world away from the rat race of everday living. it is a great base to travel from for the Beara Peninsula and Ring of Kerry. We fell in love with the place and will definitely be back.

I stayed at this doge for a week in July this year and had a wonderful time. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed - good beds, plenty of space, outdoor space. the lodge is in a lovely peaceful spot and a great place to switch off.
The weather was mixed but there was still plenty to do - Bantry (shopping, cafes, cinema, and swimming pools), Glengarriff has some lovely restaurants (Caseys hotel and Jims coffee house) and a playground and woods, Kenmare and Schull.
Highly recommend for families and couples.

Overall we were happy enough with our stay. We would have liked the option of using the central heating as it was cold in the mornings and we had to light a fire every night. The kitchen cupboards were too cluttered to leave much room for food storage - a problem for us as we weren't eating out much and needed to cook. We also felt the price was too high for linens and towels, especially when the towels were cheap and we had to re-wash them to remove the musty smell. More attention is needed to the cleaning between lettings - the dust set off our allergies immediately and we removed about a dozen spiders and lots of cobwebs upon arrival. The setting of the house is great but these little details let it down somewhat.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage in a fantastic setting. Travelling with a baby, everything we needed was provided. The cottage was peaceful, very private, well appointed. Glengarriff is a great base for a holiday, there is so much to see & do.

A clean, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a really lovely, peaceful location (yet only 5 minutes drive from lively Glengarriff).
A good base for visiting the South West.
