Four of us dined here on a Sunday evening at the end of March (2014) and had a really enjoyable meal. At first glance it may appear expensive but not for what we were served. Starters are from €4.50 (soup) to €13.50 (crab claws), mains from €19.50 to €23.50. Seafood specials €25 to €29. A seafood platter (which 3 of us ordered ) was €29.50 but was well worth it - brill, monkfisk, prawns and scallops served with potato, red cabbage, carrots, onion and courgette. Other options included beef, duck and hake, lamb, monkfish. Starters included soup, chowder, prawns, crab claws, feta cheese. To start we were served bread with a very tasty olive tapenade. Wines ranged from €19 to €35.
Restaurant is family run, Dad is the chef and his daughter Emily, who is friendly and helpful, was front of house.
We will definitely return when next in Glengarriff. I would book to be sure of a table. The restaurant is small and cosy -the evening we were there it looked as if it could cater for about 24 people but presumably tables could be arranged to cater for a few more if required.
