“Give yourself a whole day to explore!”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

I wished we could have stayed longer! The island is unlike any I have ever seen. Following the numbers (which we found out later, be sure to start at #1) takes you through the whole island and each section of the island is a different theme or world location. Absolutely stunning. There is a tea shop on the island that you can eat at also. Though we did not do that ourselves, the food we saw people eat looked great. When we return, we will definitely save one day for Garnish Island. The boat ride to the island was amazing! The captain stopped a couple times for us to take pictures of seals and other waterlife and the view of Maureen O'Hara's estate is beautiful!!

“Part of a beautiful, unexpected day!”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We visited Garnish Island on the advice of Avril from Fernroyed House. The ferry ride was short, we didn't have to wait long, and got to see the seals sunning themselves on the rocks. The gardens were still in full bloom at the end of August. The collection of plants was large and varied, the dahlias were amazing and the views from the grecian temple, beautiful. Lots of butterflies too! I took tons of photos. We were so happy we followed Avril's advice!

“Garinish Islands with Harbour Queen ferry”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

This is a lovely trip firstly on the Harbour Queen where Teddy, John and Brendan look after you on the short journey across the very sheltered glengariff bay with views of Maureen O Hara's house with plenty of time to stop for photos right by the seals out on the rocks. The island itself is beautiful especially the martello tower and grecian temple.
