Owner description: Garnish Island (Ilnacullin Garinish or Garnish) is located in the sheltered harbour of Glengarriff in Bantry Bay, in Southwest Ireland. Garnish is world renowned for its gardens which are laid out in beautiful walks and it has some stunning specimen plants which are rare in this climate.

the Blue Pool Ferry takes you across the Harbour where you see the SEals and the fantastic scenery. When you arrive on Garnisg Island you think you have arrived in Heaven, such a beautiful place to visit. Fantastic!!!!

Lovely boat ride out to the island past numerous basking seals. The gardens themselves are pretty but, as the title suggests, not outstanding. However, we did visit in October which might not be the best time of year for a gorgeous show of flora. So, if you are in the area, worth giving it a chance.

I loved this trip, I could stay there all day looking around the gardens, and it was Autumn! I did feel the trip back was rushed so would like to have the option of taking my time through the garden. but otherwise we loved the whole place.

Friends of mine who had travelled many places around the world were mesmerised by the beauty of this place, Glengarriff. The ferry trip on the sturdy Harbour Queen Ferries, owned by generations of fishermen, was heavenly. Looking at the seals lazing on the rocks, and with Hollywood icon Maureen O'Hara's homeplace sitting over the sea, it really is a great place to savour the scenery.
Relaxing, breathtaking, memorable are all the words that summarise the trip. The trip brings you to Garinish Island where you will see the Italian gardens and the Martello tower.

Even on a rainy day it is worth a visit. On the boat trip the crew take you past the Harbour seals basking on rocks, they are very photogenic.

Beautiful gardens and views.
