Owner description: The Ewe is a home - open to the public, entirely created & run by a couple. Ireland's only 'Interactive Natural History Museum-on-a-Mountain' is a must see for anyone interested in art, nature or a totally unique experience - the perfect destination for a relaxing, memorable day out. Set along a spectacular waterfall in the natural Eden of Glengarriff, the one-two hour trail offers visitors a chance to step off the treadmill, slow down and rediscover our beautiful but vulnerable natural world. It is a journey like no other. Explore the meandering pathways and hidden corners, where curious creatures gaze back as you pass. Take the Evolution Walk through the Valley of Eden, weave your way over bridges & discover a surprise at every turn. The creative haven of about six acres has been designed in four very different tiers up a mountainside - each with a theme: Water, Time, The Environment & Ancient Earth. Children welcome - please supervise for the safety & peaceful enjoyment of all.

We arrived at this attraction from the UK upon a recommendation from my friends to visit. We had allocated a morning to visit but that was no where near enough time! We ended up staying the majority of the day! We were warmly welcomed by the owner and continued to explore the paradise garden winding our way over the waterfall bridges exploring the interactive sculptures and getting stuck into the games and interactive sculpture areas which were perfect for my little cousin. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the fascinating information throughout the garden and the setting was paradise. The rain started to come in towards the afternoon but the various sheltered areas allowed us to continue exploring. We left feeling very relaxed and all thoroughly enjoyed The Ewe Sculpture Garden as an attraction for all weathers and ages!

I cannot praise Sheena and Kurt highly enough, both for their warm welcome and the wonderful experience that they have created for those visiting their home and fantastic garden. Here the term garden is completely insufficient. The experience is an eclectic mix of quirky sculptures (some of them huge), prose and poetry. Set in a sprawling natural landscape, it draws all elements together and truly creates an experience that is far greater than the sum of its parts.
Each of our 6 children aged from 7 to 18 found many things to delight and enthrall them. As did we. This was a memorable first for our family. Sheena and Kurt thank you so much. It was the highlight of our UK trip from Australia.

A little out of Glengariff this treasure is a credit to all. We went thinking it would be nice and we could spend a reasonable 20 minutes or so looking around, we stayed an hour and it was super.

Ewe Gardens will delight all who visit it. Young children will get caught up in the magic and older children, teenagers and adults can enjoy walking and discovering clever sculptures with an enviromental theme. What a wonderful way to educate people about the enviroment. One feels the artists passion as you walk through this imaginative and beautiful place. We all felt it was a very special place and will definately be back. By the way do order an ice cream from them as they too are an artistic edible creation!

The Ewe experience was an experience. This is an artist/sculptor's garden/paradise. The garden I feel was developed by two different people, the first section I felt is was Beatrix Potter style, sculptors of various animals - beavers, frogs, snails, sheep etc... very well placed and wherever you looked there was another surprise, this walk weaved around itself and along a stream. The walk continued up the mountain where you walked alongside the waterfall. Once past the waterfall the experience changed and became more environmental art, using recycled or plastic containers to make various scenes. There was also extra large painted canvases between the trees. Unfortunately the second part of the experience was not my style but may attract other people, thus the experience became boring for me. I felt they should have kept to the same style throughout.
