Description: Blissfully located upon the shores of Lough Ree, The Restaurant at Wineport Lodge enjoys an incomparable setting on the edge of Ireland's peaceful inland waterways. Guests can enjoy a warm welcome from our friendly team and with it, an innovative approach to modern and attentive hospitality. Famously delicious contemporary cuisine accompanied by an eclectic, carefully selected wine list is always on the menu, with the most flavoursome local produce regularly appearing as a daily special. The Restaurant at Wineport Lodge is a truly memorable dining experience.

I was looking forward to eating at Wineport as I had heard great reports. However, I found the experience somewhat disappointing. The setting is, without a doubt, one of the best in Ireland. From our table we had a panoramic view of the lake and the evening sky. However, the tranquility was compromised by a table of children who were making a lot of noise. The menu, while, a little confusing to figure our, had early bird price options, but the menu was limited and steak and lamb on the "signature dish" options came with a supplement price - why not just state the total price. The starters were really good and full of flavour. The mains, however, were quite average. We had pork belly and chicken. Both dishes were ok - nothing to complain about - but very lacking in flavour. If it had been served in a pub carvery I would have thought it was ok. Both dishes were lacking in any kind of flavour and were rather disappointing. Based on the experience we had, I would not go back.

Myself and my wife recently stayed here and eat in the restaurant. The rooms all look over the lake and although it was in the middle of windy and wet winter, the view is fantastic. Having a lazy breakfast in bed is highly recommended. The dining room has similar rooms and the food was top drawer. Staff are very nice, friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that the drinks in the bar are a bit on the high side for rural Ireland.

Four of us had a beautiful meal here 2weeks ago. Lovely relaxing atmosphere from the bar area to the main room. Never felt hurried or anything was too much trouble.
Set menu price of €35 excellent value with an amuse bouche of mushroom soup (fab!) the icing on the head. Worked out at €60 a head for ample food and wine, excellent value for what we had.
Only gripe - side dish's at an extra cost, my pet hate!
Try and get there during the day, beautiful surroundings. Will be back.

Visited the wineport last weekend for the first time and will definitely be back. From beginning to end the staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. The food was fabulous, and the atmosphere very relaxed. Have to mention Sandra in the bar who made our evening - a great ambassador!

Stayed here the first Sun of the new year.Lovely setting on the lake but appears a bit shabby maybe it was to do with the storms. We booked a suite and were shown to our room by a nice friendly girl but boy is it a hike to the room. The room itself was nice and big very cosy but needs painting and the carpet is a bit shabby.Fine big bathroom but the heat in the room was unbearable at night couldn't sleep in the super beds they have. The bar is small but adequate but only one lager on tap and not shy about charging for drinks. The fires are very nice and cosy on a bad day.We had dinner in the evening and it was excellent but my steak which I asked for rare was medium to well at best but that's a minor thing. The staff are very friendly and nothing is to much. The breakfast was very good as well the setting is super of the wine port lodge.Overall a good experience well worth a visit just a few minor things needs addressing,
