“Fine Dining in the Centre of Athlone”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I visited this bistro for lunch and if dinner is as good it gets the complete thumbs up. I had the spring rolls main course and it was delicious. The rolls came with a light crispy salad with just enough of each vegetable (you have no idea how hard it is to get the salad balance spot on), the Left Bank chef had it down to a fine art! I had the coffee cake dessert and that was perfect too. I was a bit disappointed when the small coffee cup arrived but again it was just enough to wash down the dessert.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The decor was just right again with good use of an old building without making it look like a museum.

The only negative thing I can say that it is a bit pricy at 15 for a two course lunch but some might say that the quality of the food was worth it.

To sum up the Left Bank I would say they just get everything right.

“Fun and Fab”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Had lunch in The Left Bank for the second time this summer and it was superb again. Great choice of menu: Asian Duck Salad or Warm Prawn and Chorizo Salad - almost too difficult to choose. Busy and Buzzy and great value. Service was very good and food very well presented.
Can't wait for my next trip to Athlone to go back and maybe book for dinner this time

“One of the better meals we've had in days!”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Went here based on tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. We didn't have reservations and came about 6:30 pm on a Friday night. We got lucky that it was early, otherwise it seemed that they were full for the night. We had the buffalo wings to start and they were delicious. Definitely for two or more people. I had the prawn curry with noodles and my husband had the duck. Both were delightful.

Absolutely recommend this place, but go early. They have a set course menu as well, which a lot of people seemed to get. They have high chairs too and are child friendly.

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Dropped in for lunch and was impressed with the food we headed back that evening, it was clear that the chefs have a passion for what they do and want to please. Everything about this place was great, the vegetables were unreal, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Had the taste buds going all the way through, the fish selection was great but the menu had something for all.
