I heard alot of good things about the Cornloft Restaurant and the hearty food its serves so on the eve of a family christening it was decided we check it out. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was quiet (turns out there was a musical in Athlone that night and that was the reason the restaurant was not busier). There was a deal on where you could bring your own wine but we didn't come prepared. There was 6 in our party and we all had starters and mains that lived up to expectation. I had the Tipperary Brie and it was delicous. Twisty prawns & duck salad also went down well. For mains, the lamb shank was a serious piece of meat complimented by lovely creamy champ. The steak was also a popular & equally tasty choice. While the desserts looked appealing none of the party could fit in another piece of food. The Cornloft is well worth a visit and you will not leave the place hungry. Service was also attentive but not intrusive which added to the experience.

Hi there
A big thank you for taking the time to write a review on our business . It's always nice to get positive feedback . Since we opened we have always had pride in our food and our service and it is so important for us that our customers have a nice customer experience in our restaurant . Your review points to these 2 key areas that we strive for perfection in so a big thank you for that .
Hope to see you in The Cornloft again . The time you have taken to submit your review means a lot !

Stopped here last Sunday for lunch nice lovely country pub lovely atmosphere as you come through the doors not like most places where they eye ball you as soon as you come through the door.. Food was superb (lamb would melt in your mouth) busy enough when we were there so we expected to be waiting but the service was fast prices are reasonable too. Will definitely be back a credit to the owner and staff for running a good show.

Hi There
Firstly many thanks for your review . As the owner of this restaurant I have just received a notification of it hence I am only responding now. This is an issue we have being having since we opened as the food and the drink are 2 seperate entities under the one roof . We are solely responsible for the restaurant upstairs namely The Cornloft however we do give people the option to eat downstairs because its all about convenience these days .
We have addressed the issue since and we can only hope if you do return that you will dine with us upstairs in The Cornloft Restaurant where I can assure you good service .
I can only apologise for your bad experience and if you are passing again we would like to look after you.
Finally if you had told us of your dissatisfaction on the evening in question we would have tried to rectify the problem there and then
Many thanks again for your comments
