“Most enjoyable”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

Visited in late December with a large family group of mixed ages. The service was excellent throughtout and attention to specific requirement were handled efficiently by the staff and the owners family. The ambience was warm, friendly without being pushy, the restaurant was almost full and yet service was unobtrusive. Fine wine list and had broad depth of prices. My one critical comment would be to tidy the car parking area, and remove or resurface the unsightly muddy section near the entrance.

“Nice place, good food”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

This restaurant opened over twenty-six years ago and still is one the favourites in the area. It is set in a charming house on the main Athlone-Ballymahon Road, just outside the little village of Glasson. You wont be disapponted when going there for dinner. My choices are their lamb and the catch of the day. It is a very cosy place, ideal for a romantic date or to dine with a group of friends in its private dining-room. It is not cheap, but the food and the service is worth the little effort. After having your meal there you can move back 400 yards to Grogan's Pub to have a pint in one of the most authentic rural pubs in county Westmeath.
