“Another gem in Glasson, for food or just a drink.”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

There's a great selection of eateries in Glasson and this is one of 'em. The atmosphere is fab - those low ceilings in the bar would really bring you back in time to Irish Pubs of old. The food is usually very good. Altho a lunchtime chowder I had was average. Other dishes were excellent. Good service too and reasonable value.

“good food”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

went here on a Sunday evening, seating area for couples is pretty cramped and not the most comfortable. The food was however very tasty and fresh but the service wasn't great, even though we just ordered a main course each (couple) we were served by 5 people from recieving menus, water, ordering, drinks etc. the waitress set our meals in front of a couple at the next table and after they poked it around and decided it wasn't theirs she simply lifted the plates and set them in front of us! service while friendly was disjointed but as already mentioned, the food was very good and for that reason i would consider a revisit and judge the experience then. Also, good value with option of 2 courses for 19 euro / main courses roughly around 18euros

“Grogans of Glasson”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

I have been a visitor to Glasson for 50 years and 30 of them as an adult so choosing a restaurant that i like is hard given the choice of accoss the road and the village restaurant down the town.
Although not the most welcoming place the chowder was good and the lamb was excellent and my mothers food was superb ( her words to me at the time). Worth a visit and let me know your thoughts !!!

I enjoyed a delightful lunch which included, mussels, the seafood chowder, salmon & of course a Guinness. Nice, friendly staff & a quaint pub atmosphere.

“Always Brilliant”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

Grogans of Glasson is simply delish!!!! Great food , great service and brilliant atmosphere...Would LOVE it even more if they had home made chips instead of frozen chips-but one cant always get what one wants...The deep fried brie is a must have here. Love it! The chef here once went the extra mile for my mother who is coeliac, and put on a baked apple dessert that wasn't even on the menu (when we enquired about the gluten free options) -these kind of things dont happen in most places, and it makes such a difference. Thank you
