“Well worth the trip”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Really enjoyed the trip. We were staying in the Hodson bay. We took the boat trip to Athlone, spent a couple of hours there and then returned. Lots to see and learn. Commentary was excellent and very personal. It was aimed at adults and kids alike. Really worthwhile. Bring on Captain 'Scabby Head' the Viking lord.

“Nice cruise on Lake Ree and Shannon River”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

This was a pleasant cruise up the Shannon River to Hodson Bay on Lake Ree. Cost was reasonable, €10. Lasted about 45 minutes. Tour was narrated.

“A good hour of relax”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

This is a tour for the Shannon you don´t want to miss. The captain and the crew are completely friendly and they know a lot of historical references. It´s 60-90 minutes sailing for the Shannon and hearing about the Vikings (and after vikings) history of Ireland. You can drink a coffee or have another type of drink there.

Just a warning. This is a long sail, so if it´s cold, have a jacket.

“a must be destination on checklist‏”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Was on the boat with my friends last Friday celebrating the local Culture Night. It was just a wonderful sail out to Loughree. We were given a great commentary by Captain Mike throughout the trip. The atmosphere on the boat was very relaxing and pleasant and everyone enjoyed it very much. Complimentary tea/coffee supplied by the cruise- there was also snacks and Arthur Guinness for sale too to give further flavour of Irish life. Great service and care. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

“Relaxing Boat Trip”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Went on a boat trip with Viking Tours with two friends for Culture night in Athlone on Friday. This was my first time and I have to say it was a very positive experience, the atmosphere on the boat was friendly and very relaxed as owner Michael McDonnell gave a talk about the history of the Shannon. I never realised the scenery was so beautiful along the Shannon. There was also complimentry tea/coffee facilities on board which always helps to make you feel at home. I will definately be back and will be recommending this to friends.
