“A hidden gem in Clare - Visit now before it becomes a massive hit.”
Reviewed March 1, 2011

On my first visit to the Wild Honey Inn, I was charmed from the minute we were greeted on arrival. A personal welcome from the proprietor is extremely rare in Ireland which is a shame as its what Irish hospitality was famed for but lost during boom years.

This charming property boasts a restaurant and chef in Aidan McGrath that would be at home in a five star resort. The food is among the best I have tasted on my travels around Ireland. Using local ingredients, he cooks to the season and the highest standards.

The bar nestled away on the ground floor is both cosy and welcoming. Stayed over Valentines weekend and the friendly atmosphere kept us there all night.
If you are planning a visit to Clare do NOT miss this place.. One thats going to be massive in the future.

I always look forward to staying at The Wild Honey Inn. The accommodation was excellent. Our room was situated on the ground floor and looked out over the garden. We were treated to a complimentary drink to celebrate Valentines night. The food was delicious - the Rib Eye steak was excellent.

Although we had planned to visit a few bars in town later we decided to stay in the Wild Honey Inn bar for the night and had a great time. Cannot praise the place enough. Don't miss out on this place!

This was my first stay at the Wild Honey Inn and it surely wont be my last. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile at the front door by Kate, something that you don't get very often anymore. Our room was very spacious and had lots of character. The food here surpassed all my expectations, Aidan is a fantastic chef, not to be missed. Great base for touring around The Burren.

We stayed here 4 days and the service has been awesome. The food is excellent, even if not cheap. But it's fresh and good. The location is good if you have a car. It's near a lot of nice places to see. You can return in the hotel late because they leave you the key. The room was very big and clean. The wooden floor a little noisy but not something disturbing. The girls are nice and kind. Breakfast was awesome and during the night it's quiet and nice. Definitely a place where to stay and go again!

This little hotel was a highlite of our 7 week B & B tour of the UK. Who needs a big TV when the hotel dining room/bar is so full of character, and the food absolutely worth the trip. Also wonderful sunny sitting rooms to lounge and read. We ate in the restaurant every night without blowing our budget too much - it was too good to pass up. We enjoyed a different cooked breakfast every morning - each a delight. Fantastic value for a package worth travelling for. This wonderful little find put manyof our "splash out" big hotels to shame. We came for one day and stayed 4. Rooms clean and beds comfortable.

I am originally from lisdoonvarna and the Wild Honey Inn is 'a breath of fresh air' - second time eating there in two months. Had a great experience. Locally run, food is superb, consistent and great service with a smile - On this visit - it was the midst of the 'matchmaking festival' but we were told there would be a wait but well worth it. The food was really superb and great value - best of all ambience was great - no rush once we sat down and the owners have a passion for what they are doing....refreshing and fun - highly recommended......these people care about food.....:)

Hotel was very nice but was missing a few home comforts. There was no tea and coffee making facilities, surely a basic in this day and age. Tiny television in the room and put a such a height that it was nearly impossible to see it. Not to be completely negative the rooms were lovely and clean and the breakfast was fab.
