I stayed here for two nights in August 2006. Of the 5 bed and breakfasts I stayed in during my trip to Ireland, this was, by far, the best. Mary O'Halloran, the innkeeper, went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and "at-home." Breakfast was a spledndid delight of a full Irish breakfast, fresh baked scones (new flavor each morning) and home made bread.
The views from the house onto Lough Corrib made the two days a time not easy to forget.
Mary was quite helpful in planning journeys, places to eat in town, etc.
Oughterard is a great town, just outside of Galway City, and at the footsteps of Connemara.
