Description: Aqua Restaurant offers stunning views over the water at Howth Sound, delicious dining and attentive but unobtrusive service. If you visit once, you will want to return again and again. We have our own kitchen garden & lobster pots sponsored in local waters to deliver our commitment where possible to Irish food. To sum it up 'Seriously good food in a room with a view'

Aqua has a great location for a restaurant! It rests at the end of a pier and has fantastic views over the sea towards the North West. I would highly recommend booking around evening time about an hour before the sun is due to set. You'll be messmerised by the kite surfers, sailors and maratime activity. I was very impressed that you can borrow sungalsses to prevent being dazzled by the sun and reflected rays of the sea.
So the location is great, the service is very good, even better the selection of food is great as well. I had a really nice meal with my girlfriend and we both are keen to go back again in the spring, summer and autumn.
I really envy the folks who live near Howth, cause this restaurant is right on their doorstep...

We were very dissappointed with this restuarant, having heard so much about Aqua, we were delighted to recieve a voucher a gift and made a day trip with a plan to enjoy the walks around Howth and enjoy a meal afterwards. We booked in advance and stated with had our young daughter with us. On arrival we discovered they had no lift, so we had to lift the buggy upstairs, our table wasnt ready ( not a big deal however a 30 min wait is excessive with a young child and a complimentary drink should have been offered as a gesture) We were finally seated in a corner of the restuarant with a view of the fire escape stairs. Not quite what we had in mind, we asked for a better table but were told that it wasnt possible with the baby chair and that they were booked up. We had booked and asked for a view at the time this was agreed we felt we were being penalised for using the baby chair! The food is average yet the prices charged are well above average . The meat was underwhelming, fish was fresh and tasty however the veg was over cooked and the mash purreed to extreme, all tasted bland and watery. Service was haphazard and slow, having to ask several times for a bowl for the baby, and water for the table finally arrived just before dessert. Wasnt worth the money and would be very slow to recommend. An average meal, service leaves a lot to be desired, and if you claim to be child friendly then dont just stick a baby chair in a corner and expect to keep your guests happy. We booked and were promised an ocean view, the overall experience was that of poor resturant management.

This was our second time in this place and the experience was equally as good as the first. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food on late Sunday afternoon was very well presented and very tasty.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. The location was great. Romantic village/small town just a few miles from the center of Dublin. The food was very good and the seafood selection was extensive but the quality was ordinary. The wine list was just adequate. Prices were above average.

We were looking forward to going to this restaurant for a while so I may have built it up in my head. The wine was amazing and the calamari was perfectly cooked and a very big portion for starters. I had the monkfish for main or a bed of pea puree with a mango salsa. It was under seasoned but there was salt a pepper on the table and the pea puree overpowered the dish a little.
My fiancé’s crab and lobster risotto was a bit overpowered by garlic which was a pity because they were generous with the lobster and crab meat. For mains she had a tuna steak which was lovely and charred on the outside but a bit over cooked which made it a little dry.
The staff was lovely and the restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. All in all it wasn't bad but probably not worth the money.
