This is such a beautiful place to walk, wander, sit, think, contemplate...

On your way there, you might think you have taken a wrong turn as it is a little out of the way, but worth the orienteering lesson to find it!

You may need a local to show you where to start this walk as it isn't readily apparent. They are all happy to direct you when asked. It is across from the grocery store and a little up the street.

However, it is a delightful walk from town up to the Friary along the River Bonet. Many generations have buried their loved ones here so you will be wandering through the beautiful stones as you take in the stone remains.

We've visited Creevela off and on over the years and always find it a beautiful spot to take a walk and climb a medieval ruin. There's a significant portion of the cloister arches still standing - more than in most monastic ruins. Note that the site is a cemetery and all graves and surrounding area should be treated with respect.

Mystical enchanting beautiful Franciscan Abbey. Place of pilgrimage n prayer for centuries. Dignified noble ruins despite desecration during so called "Reformation" of 16th century. Peaceful oasis of stillness.
