A stay at Crann Og is an experience not to be missed! I fell in love with this place when I found its website while rambling around the internet looking for a holiday destination within Ireland. It seemed idyllic, the perfect kind of location and type of trip I was looking for. I am delighted to say that my subsequent visit there did not disappoint!
Camping on this delightful organic farm beside an oak woodland, immersed in a thousand shades of green, is a truly tranquil experience. This of course is enhanced by the warmth and hospitality of the people, who make you feel so at home. Flor and Marion are more than happy to share their knowledge of farming methods, their alternative energy sources and information about the area. What they have set up is a unique, interesting and extremely welcoming holiday destination I would recommend to anyone to visit.
Although you could happily spend your days soaking up life on the farm there is plenty to explore in the surrounding countryside too, with its endless scenic views. I thoroughly enjoyed my few days at Crann Og and discovering the nooks and cranny's of this part of the country. My only complaint is that my stay wasn't long enough! I hope to return at some point as there is plenty more to learn about this place and much more terrain to cover!
