Top points of this hotel:
Reception, bar and restaurant staff were very accomodating and friendly
The room was nicely decorated with red and black.
The food was delicious. I had the pasta and My husband had the curry and both were top class. I would recommend people to eat out there as a treat.
Hotel was very quiet the night I was there.
It is 15 mins plus drive to Galway for the shopping/experience
There were a few shops but they were not recommended to us - which I think is a pity for Loughrea. We would have happily wandered around the shops there but the consensus was that it would not be recommended - Galway would be a better experience. If we had more time we would have sampled both.
We did not go in the children's play area but it looked like it would be worth a visit.
Downside is that it is out of the town a bit

We stayed for a weekend in June, the first thing that stands out were how friendly the staff were.
Food very good. Nothing seem to be a problem when we asked, accomodaton lovely. Very relaxing, rooom had a great view and very spacious. Top floor. You need to book restaurent in advance to avoid disappointment. Steak was lovely.

Room Tip: front view of Loughrea lake. Executive suite a wow !

Hotel was beautiful in that it was clean and fresh, the decor was so perfect. Not a fan of ultra modern or art deco but this had an exquiste balance and style. Hotel staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Restaurant nice not too formal and food was good. A really nice spa with loads of chill out spaces and quirky little details that added to overall spa experience. Hotel located thirty minute drive from Galway city so a shooping option. Our stay was contained to the Hotel enjoyed some peace and quiet, and entertainment was fantastic at the hotel. Great package and value for money with a show included. With a 'Do not Disturb' that was not ignored by staff like some Hotels or a piece of paper under the door to say could not service room,,, but instead, and in my opinion an ultimate gesture of thoughful professional hospitality: a bag containing fresh towels, tea and coffee, toiletries left outside the door,,, Top marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my 4th time staying at the Loughrea Hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is tasty, the bar/bistro is comfortable and tastefully decorated.. we visited specifically for the spa & great vlaue treatments on offer, the thermal suite & whole spa area was spotless, we had the place to ourselves which added to the relaxation and found our treatments of good value even if a little short, yet overall it was a very pleasant return visit.. Our room had a lake view & balcony that added to the enjoyment of our stay.. the door to the balcony didn't open unfortunately & the lack of fresh air was a bit off putting but we managed to get in a few walks by the lake which made up for that. The only downfall was the breakfast, there is limited choice if you don't eat a hot cooked breakfast & small things like scones/croissants or cheeses/ham would make it feel more like a 4* each morning, apart from that our stay was just as relaxing as we had hoped...

Room Tip: A lake view room is a must if staying here & avail of the spa it's really lovely...

Stayed in Lochrea with my family and used at as a starting point to visit Galway and Clare, we drove into Galway city and through the burren and to the cliffs of moher. The hotel is great, rooms are excellent and really modern and clean. The food is of an excellent standard. the games room downstairs is excellent for the children, which was very handy because there was nothing else to do in Lochrea!

Myself and my husband a lovely weekend away for our anniversary. On arrival at the hotel we were upgraded and were absolutely delighted. The room was fab with amazing views out over the lake. Breakfast was really nice and very civilised with plenty of free tables even though we were down quite late. We were shown to seats and tea arrived in minutes. Lovely buffet style breakfast. We also ate in the bar twice during our stay which was also lovely. Loughrea itself is a lovely little town and the walk down around the lake was really lovely. The hotel staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. All in all had a wonderful stay and would have no problem recommending it to anyone escaping the kids for a nice peaceful relaxing weekend!!!!

Room Tip: We were on the top floor and we heard absolutely no noise even though I believe there was a 21st goi...

Attended a wedding here Saturday and really enjoyed the day. Had a family room with a cot which was clean and comfortable. We booked a babysitter from 8till 1am ( cost 50 euro) Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice, food was good. Only complaint really was they wouldn't put on the outside heaters in the smoking area, it was freezing cold so don't know what they were waiting for.... (I know I need to quit) overall enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: 213 not so great if you don't require a disabled bathroom facility.
