“Simple, Yet Profound!”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

I am not sure what I was e petting, but a visit here solved it. The grave of Yeats is simple and it lays beside the entrance of the church doors. Couldn't help but notice the swans in the doors...it fit perfectly with his poem. The tombstone is simple and reflects his famous words. The setting at the foot of the mountain in very profound. Really enjoyed this juxtaposition overall.
NOTE: there is a nice coffe house on site with great desserts and clean washrooms.

“not easy to find”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

We visited the grave during the evening but were unable to locate the grave as per the signs and ended up walking around the whole graveyaed before it was found. We had hoped there would have been more infomation surrounding his death and the reason why he was burried in that particular graveyard. But we did vist Sligo town where we found much more information.

“Worth a stop by”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Theres not much to see here but it is nice to say you've been. Free to enter, you can view the gravesite as well as the church. There is ample parking and a wonderful cafe to sit for a bit and enjoy a cup of tea and some homemade soup. A giftshop is attached.View the high crosses as well.

A rather plain , unprepossessing grave but maybe that's how he would have wanted it . Worth a brief visit in view of Yeats' historical literary significance .

Easy approach for the infirm, nearby disabled parking, worth a visit. Just off the main N15 north / south route, north of Sligo.
