I called here while travelling not realising that it was not yet open for the season, and when about to leave met Joe who was most happy to see us and took us on a private tour of the site. It is defiantly on of Ireland's Hidden Gems. Just looking at the wonderful carvings on the headstones of the graveyard alone and seeing final resting place of. St Nicolas is something else, but then walking through the fields where the houses and streets of the old town once stood and walking further to sites of the water wheels you could get the feeling of what life was like here in days gone by. When we got back closer we were greeted by some lambs which had just walked up the driveway to meet us. I will be in this area again several times during the forthcoming year and look forward to return visits. Defiantly a must see and I look forward to tea and scones when it is officially open on my next visit. I took sat nav co ordinates just at entrance from road and they are. N52°30'34". W7°10'06"
