“One of Ireland's hidden treasures”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

I called here while travelling not realising that it was not yet open for the season, and when about to leave met Joe who was most happy to see us and took us on a private tour of the site. It is defiantly on of Ireland's Hidden Gems. Just looking at the wonderful carvings on the headstones of the graveyard alone and seeing final resting place of. St Nicolas is something else, but then walking through the fields where the houses and streets of the old town once stood and walking further to sites of the water wheels you could get the feeling of what life was like here in days gone by. When we got back closer we were greeted by some lambs which had just walked up the driveway to meet us. I will be in this area again several times during the forthcoming year and look forward to return visits. Defiantly a must see and I look forward to tea and scones when it is officially open on my next visit. I took sat nav co ordinates just at entrance from road and they are. N52°30'34". W7°10'06"

“Lovely family tour”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

We also visited with CIE Tours. The family was so warm and welcoming - like old friends. The history of the land was really amazing and the house was beautiful. Tea and scones were just what the doctor ordered! Can't wait to see if they are able to discover more of the town on the property. Just looking out to the vast countryside it was lovely.

“Best Kept secret in Ireland”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

So, my wife, two teenagers, and
my parents went on a CIE tour that included this spot! Joe and his family were fabulous. This tour included one of the oldest towns dated back to the 12th century! Beautiful countryside!

“Great stop, exceed expectations. ”
Reviewed February 21, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I were on a CIE tour in November that stopped in and we had a wonderful experience. The family was so warm and inviting that made you feel you were visiting relatives. The tour started with a sheep dog demo with sheep and geese, which started the tour with smiles and laughs. Then we all went inside for tea/coffee and the best scones we had in Ireland. Which my wife, now pregnant, craves and talks about regularly ha. The young daughters of the family were wonderful and were so cute selling their tea and cards, I don't see how anyone could resist.

The tour of the grounds was like walking back in history as the picture boards outside gave a good image of what the village once looked like. Seeing the tomb and church remains was a once in a lifetime experience and we felt honored that they family has allowed others to share in the history of their property. We hope that we can return one day and visit them again.

Reviewed December 10, 2013 via mobile

We visited in Aug on a CIE tour and loved our time at Jerpoint. The family including the children, dogs and donkey were very friendly and welcoming. The house is beautiful and the tea and scones delicious. The tour and demonstration was very interesting. We could have stayed all day.
