7/8/9 September Kish SAC spent another great weekend with Rianne and Gerry of Aquaventures. We got to dive the U260 the Fastnet rock, Clear Island and the Kedges. As an added bonus we had Dolphins, Sunfish, Porpoise, Angler fish and really great diving with 16 degrees water temp, We were all well looked after, with great facilities, location knowlege and a great boat. With diving like this will be back.

I dive regularly with this dive centre and i can highly recommend them for diving in snorkling around Baltimore.
There is plenty of wreck and scenic diving for most tastes. Highlights for me are a WW2 u-boat and the Fastnet lighthouse among others.
The water averages 12-16 degrees in Summer and the dive centre will provide full equipment. If you haven't dived in cold water before a check out dive is to be recommended.
The dive centre can provide try -dives and lessons for those that have never dived before

Great place to do some diving. Gerry and Rianne are great hosts and make you feel at home. Dive boat is great, spacious with a lift for divers. Great wrecks, scenic dives and well stocked dive centre.
Go every year always enjoy it.

In September we toured the SW coast of Ireland and did 3 days diving with Aquaventures in Baltimore. They frequently dive the wrecks of the Kowloon Bridge, U260 German submarine, Alondra, Hourtien & Illyrian to name a few. Also great scenic dives such as the Fastnet and Kedges and the islands in Roaringwater Bay with dramatic cliffs round Cape Clear. We were lucky to spot sunfish even at 20 mtr depth and abundance of marine life - my partner's favourite was the Fastnet Lighthouse whilst I could have done the Kowloon Bridge again and again and still not seen it all (it's300 mtrs long and lies in a maximum depth of 36 mtrs). We stayed in the Stone House B&B next door to the dive centre - and although only small with 4 bedrooms, the breakfast was outstanding with home-baked breads and great choice including smoked fish, but for our club trip next year will need to look at a package of ferry, self-catering and diving which they provide. Baltimore has plenty of other activities for non-diving family members including kayaking, island trips, beaches, sailing, walking or just chilling out in the pubs and restaurants and beautiful scenery off the Beacon and nearby Lough Hyne. We were on the hardboat, an offshore 125 with hydraulic lift, which was just as well as my partner isn't great at climbing ladders due to a back problem. Plenty of space on the boat to kit up with large deck area and huge benches and great to chance into our clothes straight after each dive. There were others going out on a rhib for seal-diving and snorkelling and we met them on our second dive round the Kedges. Beautiful gullies, loads of colours and marine life, the biggest lobster I've ever seen (can't catch any shellfish in Ireland lads so bring camera instead of goody bag). All in all a great trip and will definitely be back next year (hopefully with the club).
