“A wonderful place to be by the water in Cobh County Cork”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

This was our first time in Ireland so we really didn't know what to expect.
From Cork Station it was a short and really fascinating train ride to Cobh -
riding along by the beautiful natural Cork Harbour.
On arrival in Cobh we walked the short distance form the station - Watersedge is placed superbly next to the station!
Adjoined to the station is the Emigrant Memorial/Titanic exhibition hall - housed in the old station itself.
The staff were welcoming and we were very pleased with our room (#2).
It looked out at the back onto the harbor waters and it was easy to imagine the Titanic moving past this spot to the mooring in the harbor.
The room itself was neat, clean and comfortable with the usual tea/coffee making and the ensuite shower was clean and bright.
We had a meal in the bar which was fairly priced and which was of good standard.
The breakfast bar offered a wide range of options - a house special omelette was simply wonderful and the Irish breakfast was appetizing and full.
(How could anyone think of lunch after that?!)
The staff were always helpful and we had breakfast in our room one morning which was delightful.
The town of Cobh itself is just a short walk away and we walked there one evening - taking in the Lusitania Memorial, the church on the hill and the richly flowered surroundings - many hanging baskets which added charm to this beautiful town.
The local people we spoke to were friendly and welcoming - as indeed we found wherever we went in Ireland.
We are so pleased that we chose Cobh and Watersedge itself - a lovely and memorable visit!
We would like to come back to Watersedge in the summer when to sit out on the deck at the back of the room would be surely wonderful

Had lunch there today. The garlic bread was the best ever I've ever had - and I've had lots. Not recommended for anyone watching their cholesterol. It was absolutely divine. Following that I had an
Egg salad sandwich with chips. Sounds simple but this was gourmet standard !! Staff were fantastic. Friendly and professional but not in your face. View was to die for. For anyone visiting Cobh the Waters Edge is a must stop. I got all of the above for €11 euros. Absolutely fantastic. Well done to Waters Edge!

This is an older building. It does have underground parking, and the water-side rooms have a nice view over the harbour. Best thing was the staff. All were very good to us, and went out of their way to accommodate. My wife was ill, and the desk staff arranged for her to see a doctor, and drew her a map to find the surgery. They let me hold the room until after her appointment, and would have had no difficulty adding another night had we wished it. In the dining room, for supper and breakfast, serving staff--which included front desk people--were again efficient and courteous. Dinner was a very good piece of salmon in a white wine sauce for me, and I know my wife enjoyed hers but neither of us remembers what it was. Great location; has lovely area for eating outdoors on the bay side if the weather would permit; and rates were reasonable. No elevator.

Room Tip: Water side is best, of course.

During a recent trip to visit our daughter in Ireland she and her partner took us to Cobh. We really enjoyed our stay at the WatersEdge Hotel. It had a wonderful atmosphere - with lovely clean well presented rooms. The staff were professional and friendly. The view from our room was beautiful - especially being able to watch the ships come in and go out. We would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was also very good.

This hotel is literally right on the water. We requested a seaview room w/balcony, and a tug boat was docked right outside our door. We really enjoyed being so close to the water and being able to see the boats that close. Directly across the water is an Irish Naval Base, which was also interesting to see from our balcony. The room was very nice, and the bed was comfortable. The staff, though there were very few of them there, were attentive and helpful. The hotel offers onsite parking in a garage underneath the hotel, which was convenient. And it's right across the street from the Cobh Heritage Museum and within a 5-minute walk of the Titanic Experience. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a seaview room with balcony. It's worth it!

Just back from a weekend in the lovely Watersedge Hotel Cobh. The room was lovely and comfortable and the hotel is in the perfect location within easy reach of the train station and lots of lovely restaurants. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the seaside. The views are amazing

This hotel is right on the boardwalk so it was fun to watch the tugs moving a cruise ship around on our first night. With it being off-season, I suspect that's the reason the town seemed so very quiet. Right next to the Visitors' Centre. A good restaurant on the premises so we ate there. The breakfasts were great, too, as we watched seagulls swooping in the morning. Quiet at night in our large room and decent-sized bathroom.

Parking is below, tight, but useful. A lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: We had room 8 overlooking the boardwalk.
