For the next stage of our tour we headed south to Cork and selected the Highland B&B in Cobh. This place is a little way outside the town set in quiet surroundings. Our room was clean and tidy and the ensuite was on the small side. However we had a very comfortable night. Traditional full Irish at breakfast always sets you up for the challenges ahead and this was very nice.
Cobh is set among some pretty steep hills, so not for those who get out of puff easily. Main selling point is the Titanic tribute; this place was the last port of call on that ill-fated voyage in 1912. There is a good train link to Cork running every half an hour costs about 6 or 7 euro return so good value.
