Owner description: Titanic Experience Cobh is a permanent visitor centre, located in the original White Star Line Ticket Office in the centre of Cobh town (formally known as Queenstown) in what was the departure point for the final 123 passengers who boarded the Titanic. Our visitor experience is presented in two parts. The first is an exciting immersive audio visual tour retracing the steps of the 123 passengers who boarded Titanic from Queenstown on April 11th 1912. Experience their anticipation of the long journey ahead and their new life waiting in America. With Fourth Officer Boxall as your virtual guide and using innovative audio visual technology and replica set designs, ‘passengers’ will experience what life would have been like on board for those 123 Queenstown Passengers. Passengers will share the excitement of boarding the most Luxurious liner of her time and feel the horror of the tragedy on that fateful night on the 15th April 1912.

It's an interesting and informative 'experience', the negative is that in some parts of the tour your ushered through by the guide, rather than walking around in your own time.

Very realistic and quite sad. Well laid out with not too much reading. Quite unusually for this type of attraction, the staff are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. I learned a lot.

The idea of assigning boarding passes of actual passengers to visitors/passengers taking this tour was pure genius. The tour ends with each passenger eagerly checking to see whether he/she survived the voyage or not. My ticket belonged to Catherine McGowan and unfortunately, she did not survive. I was gutted and for the first time ever, really felt the enormity of this disaster. Catherine was born in Ballina and together with her niece, Annie, was heading for Chicago and a new life when they both met with disaster on the Titanic. The tour is carried out in such a way as to persuade you that you are a passenger on this ill-fated liner which adds to the drama and loss involved. Lots of interesting information to be gleaned, including mock-ups of cabins, etc. Would recommend.
