Built in 1868 this cathedral has gone through restoration and when you see it you walk away wondering how man could make such beauty. The amount of stone carving alone is beyond anything I have ever seen. The interior is wall to wall reverent beauty. Take the time to see it, it is worth every minute.

Lovely stained glass windows, and very ornate chapels and altars. Well worth the short climb up the hill, and the view over the town and the harbour is stunning from up there.

Simply a beautiful place. It seems to float over the town like an angel. Very tranquil and peaceful. Try to be there for Mass if you can.

From the river in Cobh, you can take in the beauty of this cathedral on top of the hill... Even if your stay in Cobh is very short, it's worth taking about 30-45 minutes to hike up the hill to view the beautiful masterpiece!! Free entrance when I was there in September. Walk inside and take a moment to enjoy its serenity. Or just enjoy the gorgeous view of the colorful row houses and water below...

It was a long walk up the steep hill, but well worth the effort. The Cathedral is stunning - you must go inside to see the stained glass windows and the altars. There is also a lovely view of the town from atop the hill.
