We stayed here one night in May on our way along the countryside while driving from Kenmare back to Dublin. What a darling hotel property! We just loved it. The room was so cute and quite cosmopolitan in a laid back kinda way. Our room overlooked the little bay there in town. Everything was perfect. Don't be influenced by ANY of the negative reviews. We stayed in Ireland for 10 nights and this hotel property was one of my favorites. The Maritime was suggested by a local while we were at dinner a few doors away. The hotel has a very NYC feel but is in the middle of nowhere in Ireland. Breakfast was delicious and starts early enough to get out of the hotel for early morning photography of the area. The spa looked great, but we missed it by a few minutes. It closed at 10 PM which is rather late but we arrived so late that it wasn't until 10:10 PM when we unloaded our bags and began looking around the hotel for the spa/pool. I think the price was quite reasonable, too, for the room. The hotel is within easy steps of pubs and restaurants in the town. We went to the hotel bar and it, too, was quite happening for the hour.

I attended at a wedding in april at the Maritime Hotel and stayed for 5 nights. I can not speak highly enough of how well the Hotel is run. Starting form the Manager down - all the staff were determined to ensure that all the guests really enjoyed themselves- all of whom (156 ) had travelled hundreds of miles to attend the wedding & stay in the Hotel, The hotel is just newly built and has been decorated to the highest standard. Rooms are outstanding. The Restaurant/Bar staff are some of the most professional staff - I have every come accross. I am going back again in september for a weeks holiday.

This is my third time going to the Maritime and I am so fussy about hotels. This time I enquired with a very nice man at reception re. the fantasic decor of the hotel. He told me it was ultra modern and the designer was a designer for Brown Thomas and the furnishings were Chanel. You could almost have guessed looking at the chairs, the materials in the rooms, in the lobbies, library, the materials. It is just gorgeous!

The food in the restaurant is top quality. Neither will you be disappointed if you eat in the bar. Staff are excellent and as I could see from talking to the man at reception the management takes the guest's enjoyment of their stay very seriously.

Previous review said the pool was small. That is rubbish. It is huge and again like everything in this hotel beautifully designed.
He also said the rooms are hot. I have stayed their three times now and found the temperature really perfect.

Furthermore, really big parking underneath the hotel. So when you come back, you just get out of your car, go to the lift, straight to your room, which is nice.

I stayed at the Maritime for two nights at the beginning of May. I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious and the rooms were luxurious; my bed was absolutely enormous and extremely comfortable. The hotel is in an ideal location overlooking the Bay, close to the town centre but not in the midst of all the noise. Two nights just wasn’t enough to sample all that the hotel has to offer and I intend making a return trip for a longer stay as soon as I am able. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Decoration: really nice
Room: hot, noisy with no views and lack of details like bathrobes(which they are suppose to provide as per their booklet).
Pool: nice but small, broken facilities...in the pictures it looked amazing...big lie!
Restaurant: bad service, incorrect wine menu (rose wine advertised as white wine), when you arrive they only provide you with the "daily" menu instead of the full menu. Awful coffee; I ordered two double expressos and i got two filter coffees in small cups, i asked them again for a proper coffee and i got bigger cups with the same awful liquid. Food was burnt and i also have to go to reception to pay the bill as they had problems with their equipment. Another big lie!!
The hotel is like a labyrinth in which is easy to get lost. Four stars hotel?? another big lie?
Staff: You will get better treatment in Jail

We recently attended a wedding reception in the Maritime - stayed for a week in one of the well furnished and very comfortable suites overlooking Bantry Bay (only slight criticism - theneverending but halted bulding works on the Quay are a bit of an eyesore!). The staff particularly Robert in the Bar and at the function were superb. We have never been to a more enjoyable wedding and the Maritime contributed significantly to that experience! The suite was perfect for our needs. Overall we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here on the May Bank Holiday weekend for two nights. From the outside it is hard to know what to expect but the inside is really lovely. We had booked a double room but were given an upgrade to a suite. The suite has a sitting/dining room, mini kitchen, bathroom with a bath and a double room. There are two flat screen tvs, one in the sitting room and another in the bedroom. There was also a balcony with a gorgeous view across the bay. There is a spa in the hotel which isn't mentioned on the hotel website - it seemed really reasonably priced but I didn't have time to go. The leisure centre was very nice and had a good range of gym equipment and a good size pool. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the service was great, the girls were local and had the Irish banter which is a rare thing in some hotels. All in all it was a lovely stay and I'll be back for a return visit.
