Celebrated a family occasion here.
Mr Tiptaft (Manager) was extremely helpful and kind with all aspects incl pricing and was always a gentleman to deal with.
A number of our group stayed and loved the hotel esp rooms and leisure centre. How a recent review (see below this) can knock the hotel for being too central is beyond me. It is at the edge of the town but not in the town centre itself so a few min walk but no noise at night.

This hotel is what West Cork really needed and now has so dont miss the opportunity to stay.

I'm writing from this hotel now, using their Wi-Fi service that's free to guests. The room is great, the bed is very firm and comfortable, and they have a nice large safe in the room that holds my MacBook. The restaurant has terrific food, cooked very well, and an attentive staff. The fitness center and pool are first-rate, and a great place to spend a rainy day. There is also underground parking directly across the street from the hotel.

It's true that the street below the windows is a bit noisy, and they are currently doing some construction work on quay directly opposite. However, it quiets down in the evening, and we had no trouble sleeping due to noise.

We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

So disappointed with this hotel. Read the great reviews and looked at the hotel website and was really looking forward to a night away for hubbie, myself and our 2 month old baby.
The short version first, hotel location disappointing, the photographer taking the pics for the website deserves an award cos the view from the rooms is awful. hotel itself nice, suite nice but not great. Pool area small but lovely.
Upon arrival I was disappointed to find the hotel in the centre of Bantry, from the pics it looked further out.
We arrived after 3pm and went to check in, to be told room wasnt ready and to come back around 4.40 or 5 - no apology or anything. I said but isnt check in 2pm? And was told yes but we were full last night and people very late leaving - again no apology!! With a 2 month old baby i said we needed a room asap anyways eventually the duty manager came down to us and got us a room within a few minutes but to be honest the initial dealing with reception ruined the stay for me.
We booked a suite and it was nice but had expected more. Everywhere very clean but just lacking something, couches uncomfortable, bathrooms small and ordinary. The noise in the rooms is crazy, i was convinced there was a window open with the amount of traffic noise.
All in all, hotel is fine if you want to stay in the centre of bantry but I defo wont be returning.

We booked a double room at the Maritime but when we got there we were given a suite for no extra charge. If the regular rooms are as nice as the suites, we would have still felt we had gotten a good deal even without the upgrade, but the suite was fantastic. It was large (kitchen area with sink and microwave, dining area, living area with flat screen TV, nice bath and roomy bedroom with another flat screen TV), the furnishings were new, and the view was great. The only problem was that being so large it took a little longer for the living area to heat up to a comfortable temperature.

We also went to the spa (free for guests) and used the jacuzzi and the sauna. It was nice, too, but it closes early on weekends, 8 pm.

One tip: go to the Brick Oven just up the road for dinner. The Spicy pizza was the best pizza we've had since moving to Ireland from the U.S. over a year ago. If you don't want to get the pizza to go, you'll need reservations.

Spent a lovely weekend at the Maritime hotel. Myself and the girlfriend loved every minute of it. The hotel is so modern and trendy, the decor is really nice and Bantry itself is a lovely destination. Our room was gorgeous, very comfortable and great facilities in our room and the hotel in general. Food was great, service and staff were great, good live music in the bar and the breakfast was the highlght for me, lovely pancakes !!

I suppose if i had to nit pick both myself the girlfriend were very unhappy with the security situation in the lesuire centre. We went for a swim and were expected to leave our valuables and our clothes, etc in an unlocked locker in the changing rooms. When we asked the girl at the counter if there were any padlocks available to lock the locker as some lockers were locked with padlocks she told us that none were available, it appeared that there were roughly 10 padlocks to service the male and female changing rooms. Also the pool was quite cold.

One other issue was with the toliet in our room, everything was great with the room but the toilet kept filling when flushed and we had to play with the push button on the wall to stop it filling as the filling noise was very loud !!

Other then those little things i still gave the hotel 5 stars as we had a great weekend and would recommend the hotel to anyone and will definitely be back !! Oh and if looking to eat out somewhere go to O'Connors - the food is simply devine.

My family and I stayed at the Maritime Hotel Bantry for 2 days over the New Year. We really enjoyed the New Year's Eve party, with an excellent meal followed by a very good band to sing in the New Year and dancing to the small hours. We all thought the organisation was spot on and the staff efficient and friendly.
Next morning we had a great Irish breakfast in very pleasant surroundings. Some of the family really enjoyed the leisure facilities and swimming pool.
In short we were delighted with our stay, the apartments/rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean and warm. Well done to the management and staff, we would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I stayed at the Maritime earlier this year and returned for New Years Eve for the gala dinner. We had a superb evening - excellent food (especially nice duck starter!) and service and a magical atmosphere. The hotel itself is stunning - really amazing design and this time we booked two apartments for all the family which was really lovely with a balcony overlooking the sea. We partied into the early hours and managed to make it down for breakfast next morning which was great - the staff arranged a big table for all the family which was really special.
