“Two single beds pushed together- double room!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2012

This is a lovely hotel , in a great location in Bantry. I stayed there recently for two nights. However, I was not at all happy with two single beds being pushed together to suffice as a double room. I asked at reception that the mattresses at least be zipped together, I was informed after a member of staff went to my room that they clipped the beds together and that was it. I highlighted that the mattresses have zips for this purpose and had to ask that the mattresses be zipped together. This was eventually done. I really liked the hotel , the breakfast was lovely and the rooms were clean and spacious. The idea of two single beds pushed together though really ruined it for me , I would not have a guest room like that in my home and expect anyone to stay in it.

Room Tip: Ask for a double bed in your double room !! It should be a given , although so many hotels are using...

We stayed in the Maritime over the weekend of 17th March St Patrick's weekend.
It is in the town of Bantry so no need to drive anywhere at night. The food was very good, we ate in the bar and had the early bird in the restaurant. In my opinion the food portions are large and tasty. The breakfast had options of continental and buffet full irish.
My favourite things about the hotel was the gym and the spa. I had a wonderful foot massage. My friend who was travelling with me used the pool a number of times. There was a nice local walk around the harbour. There are many small boutiques great for the unique little finds. Two of the boutiques had ladies that couldn't do enough to help me. This was a real feature of Bantry, their customer service was excellent everywhere I went. We ate in o'connors seafood restaurant which was excellent. The town is full of pubs with great old world character.
The staff in the hotel were so helpful about everything and the hotel seemed to cater for all types of visitors. There were lots of families and a few couples, it's somewhere I would definitely return.

Having stayed in hotels all around the world, I can safely say this is an excellent hotel. Any issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently and it's lovely, clean and friendly hotel in a beautiful location. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms are excellently appointed, and of a very high standard, and modern. This hotel punches way above its weight. Close to Bantry House, cinema and town, with a lovely leisure centre great for kids. Would highly recommend staying here, as good as, if not better than 4 star hotels at home and abroad. Excellent value.

very very average for a hotel that we thought would have been very good indeed! The scenery from our window was of a boarded up entrance to the car opark across the road. It was painted blue and had lots of ads on it for the maritime hotel. The pool is lovely and very peaceful. Breakfast was good but not amazing, i have had better breakfasts at cheaper hotels. We had a bedroom in the front of the hotel looking over the VIEW, but the noise from the road kept us awake for most of the night . in all its a good hotel a bit ramshackled lots of lifts to get to rooms etc. in all would i go back, no not in a hurry there are better hotels than this.

Stayed for 1 night here on a quiet Friday before Easter. The welcome was very friendly. The hotel is very modern and very tastefully designed. The food was lovely, the only complaint being there was too much! The swimming pool is lovely, and again staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was also great, with lots of choice and specials made to order.
Bantry is a lovely town with a super fantastic market on a Friday. Great hotdogs done the Danish way, and lots of the usual stuff as well as crafts, lovely veg stalls and bric-a-brac vintage stuff.

I have stayed here on three occasions and find the Maritime to be a lovely experience. All staff, from the check in desk to the restaurant, bar and leisure centre, are exceptionally friendly and very professional.
Overall, a lovely hotel in a perfect central location. I would highly recommend the Maritime Hotel.

Stayed just one night on a birthday treat which included dinner bed and breakfast. Lovely modern hotel who's best asset is its friendly helpful staff. Close to Bantry town and wonderful sea and mountain sceanery. Room was large, well equipped and very comfortable. Leisure centre allowed a welcome relax in the pool, sauna and steam room. Free wifi to own laptop and lovely communal areas to sit and chat. Meal service was a little slow on both dinner and breakfast but food was good and good value for money. Given the limitations of the site the hotel design and decor gave a lovely womb like feeling of warmth and comfort. Happy to recommend giving it a visit.
