Seriously. Boggy wet. Even in mist and rain the walks are beautiful, well marked and wet. The various spots along the way (Eileens Pub in Kilcrohane) help.

Beautiful walk with stunning views of the Atlantic. You've got everything there: beautiful lakes, scary cliffs, a poetic lighthouse. I would avoid the coffee shop, I had a hot chocolate that tasted like hot water....

We found out about the great hiking once we arrived and were surprised at how wonderful the views were. Even the weather was great.

Loved walking to the lighthouse, a bit of a strenuous hike there and back but worth it! Coffee shop and restrooms on the peninsula are greatly appreciated. The scenery took our breath away!

Our visit was helped but the uncharacteristically sunny weather but the walk out to the light house at the tip of Sheeps Head, with Mizen Head to the left and the Beara Peninsula to the right, is really jaw dropping. Plus there was almost no one there! Proper tranquility and gorgeous scenery finished off with a slice of Bernie's apple and rhubarb tart at Ireland's most beautifully located picnic table.
