The peninsula is a bit rocky and barren, but has a wild, untamed beauty and non-touristy feel, taking you back to Ireland as it used to be. Well worth spending a couple of days exploring it. I recommend driving right to the furthest point out, then walking for half an hour (ideally in walking boots) to the tip of the peninsula. The ocean views on a clear day are stupendous, from the cliff top vantage points.
